PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE BIDDING: I'm a serious private seller (see my feedback) so serious bidders only please. I would much prefer bidders to view the car before bidding/buying. No road test jockeys or boy racers please- I will take you for a test drive. but that's it- you will be the passenger!
A Paypal payment of £500 is required after purchase- the balance will be in CASH ONLY on collection. Any silly offers will be ignored or reported if there's any dodgy business- and absolutely UK BIDDERS/BUYERS ONLY.

Very regretfully I have to sell my Camaro that I have had for 8 years. In that time I have spent a lot of money on all the right things to make this a great. usable and fast road car. but sadly need to sell it for a fraction of what it will potentially be worth with some further investment. I know the car from end to end (and underneath) so am not interested in palming it off to someone who doesn't know and appreciate these cars. and the work that has been done.
I will be 100% honest- I don't like BS. and would expect the same from a bona-fide ebay buyer.

BASIC SPEC:
It's a 1968 Camaro coupe (originally 6 pot) with a 475 CI big block (tweaked 454) built by Mark Jones of Vortecpro Engines in Colorado (built and shipped over by me in 2007). I have the dyno sheet: 570 HP/ 588 ft lbs torque. engine has only done around 2500 miles.
Check out this man. because an engine of this spec could easily cost you over 7 grand if built in the UK- and he knows how to correctly port standard heads to outperform a lot of alloy aftermarket heads. PS- you must use engine oil with zinc (and I will supply some bottles of additive I bought in the states).
Flat tappet cam/ iron ported heads/ isky cam/ Holley 850 DP/ Weiand Stealth intake/Hooker headers/ MSD/ rear electric fuel pump/ Alloy Rad with twin electric fans (plus lightweight engine fan)/ Serpentine pulleys. everything has been replaced from new to build and dress the engine.

TH400 Auto box (Pontiac box with adapter plate)/ front disc brake conversion/ power steering/oil and trans coolers/
custom 2. 5 inch dual exhaust with Spintech Mufflers and X-pipe / Subframe connectors/ poly suspension bushings/ big front sway bar/ 10 bolt posi rear with 3. 55 gears (rebuilt by Andy Robinson).

There's loads more I will have forgotten to mention- Fast ratio steering box/Hurst Quicksilver shifter/ shift lite rev counter/ extra guages/ houndstooth check front seats/Luke harnesses/ fire extinguisher etc etc!
Wheels: Vintage American Racing daisy mags (8x15) with custom spinners- Goodrich TA tyres (all v good).
Fibreglass 6 inch cowl hood (to clear the huge K&N air filter!)- latched and hood pinned (not a cheap lift-off hood).
There's 80. 00 on the clock but have no idea what the actual mileage is. which is irrelevant as most of the running gear has been replaced or upgraded.

CONDITION:
Generally very good all round and very solid underneath. but it was always my plan to do a bare-metal paint job- (there is some bubbling and minor rust under the paint under the back window and along sills/door bottoms). weatherstripping and modest amount of work on the interior (needs new headliner for sure). Some of the glass is scratched (not the windscreen)
and some trim parts could do with replacing. I have all parts for the front grille/headlamp surrounds that I will supply with the car. Engine compartment was completely stripped and repainted when engine was fitted plus some rewiring (sorted all front suspension bushings)- All work was done by Paul and the guys at Burnham Autos (inc the exhaust system and fan guard)- plus we went under the car and gave everything a good clean and black rustproofing coating. Spent shed loads! By all means contact Paul at Burnham Autos for any input/advice- he loved the car!

Countless trim parts (interior and exterior) have been replaced- rear light bezels/lenses for example but too many to list. Car has always been undercover and garaged for the last 3 years- I have virtually never taken it out in the wet (too bloody dangerous anyway!).

For security there is a battery cut out switch- and a hidden fuel pump cut off switch. Car has MOT until October 2013 (passed with nothing needed last time) and Road Tax until end September 2013 (free anyway as a classic car).

THINGS THAT NEED DOING: There is a drip leak from the transmission seal- lived with it for years but it could do with sorting. Leaky tyre valve in one of the back tires (not a puncture as the tyres are excellent and hardly worn). I think the propshaft needs looking at (even though it was balanced by Andy Robinson when the rear end was rebuilt). and might need a new one as I'm not happy with a road rumble vibration at certain rev points.
Oil pressure is good (as it should be with low mileage and an excellent engine build) but on hard acceleration it dips slightly- and I would drop the pan to check oil pump clearance and possibly fit a windage tray. which I don't think it has. The buyer can contact the engine builder direct for any info if needed. Battery could probably do with replacing- holds a charge pretty well but is a few years old and a bit sluggish on starting.

I'm happy to discuss the car with any potential buyer- and can be contacted on: 0208 850 9566 (Daytime and evenings). The car is at mine in SE London (Eltham) and would urge viewing before buying so there are no surprises!

I do have a lot of parts for the car that I will be selling separately- including full set of tinted glass (except windscreen) glass trims/weatherstripping/Hurst line-lock/ set of Landrum drag springs/ kb gas shocks/alloy rear diff cover and lots of other parts I was going to fit to the car. These will not come with the car!

Can't tell how sorry I will be to see this car go- but my loss will be your gain!
Vehicle is offered without any warranty and sold as seen so please be sure you are happy with the vehicle before you bid or buy.
I will be happy to supply the buyer any paperwork/bills/engine build pics etc that I have. and keep in touch for the forseeable future if they want to.

SEE ABOVE FOR TERMS OF SALE- THESE ARE NON-NEGOTIABLE.

On 10-Jun-13 at 18:11:02 BST. seller added the following information:

Just so there is no confusion (and I really would stress that potential buyers should inspect the car before bidding or buying) this is not a concours restored car- which is
reflected in the price. and in the description of the car. It will need some time and money ( and a proper strip and paint job. which may include some bodywork) to bring it up to
scratch. You can drive it away and use it (and abuse it!) as is. but please be aware that it is not a show car. but it is a beast!
