1962 MORRIS MINI MKI

This superbly presented MKI Mini was first registered on the 14th May 1962 and was supplied brand new in White and allocated the registration mark NOO 440. The Mini was first registered to a lady in Enfield who kept the car seventeen years. selling it to a lady in Peterborough in 1979. The second later owner moved to the Norwich area and eventually parted with the car in 1993 and it was sold by a Norfolk based classic car business in 1994 to its third owner. a gentleman based in Glenrothes. The Mini stayed in the same family until 2010 before selling to the most recent owner. also in Fife. Scotland. This low ownership car is a very genuine. correct example that has been very well maintained throughout its life and comes to us in excellent condition.
NOO 440 comes to us with a comprehensive history file containing copies of all logbooks dating back to 1962. various MOT certificates and an invoice file from the 1990's detail a high level of expenditure. Work from this period includes new steering rack boots. cv boots. track rod ends. Halogen headlight kit. new oil pressure switch. plug leads. front and rear brake shoes. brake cylinders. wheel bearings. subframe bushes. handbrake cable. brake hoses. re-conditioned radious arms. knuckle joints and bushes. new rear shock absorbers.  thermostat and thermostat housing. new manifold gasket. driveshaft spline gaiter. gearbox gasket set. engine mounting and various new hoses. Further invoices include other new parts such as braided fuel hoses. sliding window channel. rear lamp assemblies. clutch plate. clutch hose. release bearing. clutch oil seal. clutch master cylinder. ring gear. water pump and ball joints. During the 1990's the Mini was also treated to major bodywork to include new sills and quarter panels and various trimming work was also carried out.
Since the 1990's re-commissioning and restoration work. the Mini has covered very little mileage and presents superbly. The bodyshell is very smart; the paintwork is of a high standard. as is the chrome. The interior is sharp with perfect carpets. lovely seats. clean dashboard and headlining. On the road NOO 440 drives superbly with an excellent. strong 848cc engine. good four speed gearbox. efficient brakes and brilliant. typical Mini road holding and handling. The car is great fun to drive. looks fabulous and has the provenance of low ownership. original specification. colours and registration mark. MKI Mini's are fast appreciating; this has to be a good long term purchase.
