280CE (COUPE) - DOHC/ Twin Cam Model

Finished in Mercedes-Benz Paint code - DB147 (Originally the car was Champagne gold with beige interior. Now white with Red Interior)

Recent complete re-build from a rolling chassis purchased in 2005 from Macleods of Brigg (Local MB Specialist Lincolnshire)

Works completed on purchase of rolling chassis (Circa 2005) included: (PHASE 1)
Two new rear Quarter Panels. Rear light/Number plate panel. Boot floor. New drivers side door. Front wings. Sills. and New inner wing. All Bulk Head refurbished. (All parts purchased from Mercedes-Benz- Alexandra Motors. Now Mercedes-Benz of Grimsby. Including All Chrome Trim which I still have the existing bags for that are dated)

Works completed from Feb 2015 - Feb 2016 include: (PHASE 2)
New bushes. New Front sub-frame mountings. Engine mounts. New rubbers all round. Complete Sub-frame cleaned. Primer with Zinc Oxide and Painted.
Rust from floor panels cut out and Plates welded in. Seam sealed and coated with Zinc Oxide paint. New front screen. New rubbers for front and rear screens.
New carpets. New exhaust. ew tyres. Electronic Ignition fitted (pertronix electronic ignition. Points and Transistor removed). New battery. New Bosch Coil. New Leads. new Plugs.  Reconditioned Injectors (Mr Injector Suffolk). New Ball joints (Febi- Bilstein) . Bush kits (febi). Track rod arms. Steering damper. etc. The list is endless. (All parts either MB. Bosch. Febi. Mahle. Or Mann)
New rear seat belts (Anchored on the parcel shelf) New rear Speaker. New Door Speaks. New Bluetooth stereo fitted. Dash Speaker working.  

Having mentioned all the above it is not concourse. hence the listed price. Immaculate versions of this particular model are sold for 19K and above.

Points to address:
It does require a new Head liner fitted as the old one is for a sunroof model (Now Redundant. sealed and Vinyled) and two pieces of Trim that I am finding difficult to source (A Pillar Moulding - I have two. Ones in a poor way. )  Will require a new off-side light reflector as the current one is not immaculate. Nearside is New at a cost of 185 Euros just for the reflector/Indicator)
The Near side wing. Off side wing and Bonnet require Paint touch up required. Also a small area near the roof bars requires attention.
Also as an addition I feel the drivers side seat will need the pocket springs replacing. I am quite tall so it doesn't affect me much. But I thought I should mention it.
The Right Hand drive Stroke 8 model coupes are becoming very rare to source. There are plenty of LHD Imports from the US and Mainland Europe which to be fair are in brilliant condition due mostly to the favorable weather conditions of many states in the US. However the British drivers will know that a RHD car  has it own pleasure when cruising in the UK. Also just to add this particular model is only fitted with the Drivers-side wind mirror.
This car has had thousands spent on it (Receipts. documentation and a full album covering the restoration will be sold with it. A digital Album only as I have paid good money to get the pictures developed)  and many man hours. Would be nice for it to go to a good home.

PLease email only if you're genuinely interested. I know there are still plenty of W114 Coupes kicking about in the UK. But I have purchased 3 in the past and all have been rotten. Typical places where these models go tends to be the Bulk Head. Floor pans and Boot floors. Thankfully my rolling chassis already had a lot of work already done.

Judging by the current conditions the classic car market is not as buoyant as I would have liked it to be. Having said that I feel I have priced it competitively. I am open to taking sensible offers but at the same time I would prefer interested parties to submit offers in person after viewing what they are buying. It is not a small amount of money.
