With the pound dropping against the dollar. these wont be getting cheaper any time soon and imports may dry up so get a truck while you can!

1954 Chevy 3100 swb stepside pickup. Fresh import and not even been on the ramps for inspection yet. but it runs well. drives exceptionally well and stops nice and straight and is one of the best pickups we've had straight out of the container.
It is a stock 235 cu in straight six. 4 on the floor manual gearbox and torque tube drive. but although it has lots of dents and is hand painted. it has been well looked after mechanically. Many new parts including front disc brake conversion. brakes hoses etc. recent shocks. etc etc. Hand brake works but is way out of adjustment and wont hold it on a hill. This one doesn't bump and bang over speed bumps. it's really quite smooth for an old pickup and it steers well too with little to no play in the steering.
All the lights work except one tail light which I would assume is a bulb as everything else works. It has a new electric wiper conversion. heater is piped up and works as does the blower. Various new switches etc and the clocks have either been renewed or restored as they are very fresh. but the speedo doesn't work and is currently sitting showing 30mph when parked. Temp gauge is at hot all the time too. so some electrical checking over needed.
Glass is all good and doors open and close well. This one has a full headliner and door trim panels too and although they haven't been done recently they still hold up well with just a bit of wear and warping. The Mexican blanket seat cover has some wear and I assume the original seat cover is worn through under it. though I haven't checked.
Body wise. this is very solid but has been hand painted years ago and does have quite a few dents. especially to the wings and a bit on driver side of the cowl where it looks like the door has blown too far round at one time. I've shown all this in the pics below. Even the original bed wood in this one is still useable.
So. in short a decent old truck which can be used just now and improved as you drive. BUT I would advise taking off the hubs and checking brakes and wheel bearings before use as we just haven't had time so far. If it's here for a few weeks. we will probably go through it and check stuff like that. though price may be adjusted up the way if we do anything.
Waiting on the NOVA from HMRC and then it will be UK registered and come with V5 as always.

You always have the option to come and view it and meet me in person before buying. Viewing by appointment only as I'm not always at the yard. I could be out on a recovery job. delivering a truck locally or driving a tanker as I do relief driving for a fuel delivery company as well.
