First off I would like to say . nbsp;I am not a dealer . this is my personal car and I drive this Chevelle SS to all the cruise nights and car shows in my area .  This car is registered and insured by me. If you are a dealer and want a real Chevelle SS cheep just to flip . find another one thanks. Well I am selling my 1970 Chevelle SS only because I want to buy a 1969 Pontiac GTO . I have owned this Chevelle SS for many years and I Hate to let it go but GTOs are my favorite car and the one I have bean trying to get for years is for sale.

I will try to describe this car to the best of my ability but remember . if you are a buyer do your homework and know what you buying.  I always encourage the buyer to look at and drive the car first.

This is a real 1970 Chevelle SS 396 350 hp car and I have the build sheet. This chevelle has one of the lowest VIN numbers you will ever see . I suspect it was one of the first 50 Chevelle SS cars made. nbsp;the car was made in October 3rd week and  almost all the casting numbers are August 1969 . even the carb is made in September of 1969.

Now the good stuff . This Chevelle  SS came from the factory black cherry in color and a black vinyl top and a turbo 400 automatic trans and 3;31 12 bolt rear.  two seasons ago I turned the car into a 4-speed and changed the idiot light SS dash to gauges. . Keep reading . I did the conversion the right way . these two conversions cost me $5. 00 because I did it the right way.

When I did the 4-speed conversion I only used real GM parts that where NOS or restored. The transmission is a 1970 Chevrolet Muncie M20 ( I think from a Corvette ) totally rebuilt . The clutch is new GM . The shifter is a new very expensive Hurst with a special Muncie shift handle that is made for the Hurst shifter . I tried to use a real Muncie shifter but they are the worst shifters ever so I bought the Hurst kit from Ground Up Chevelle parts. I took extreme care with the 4-speed conversion to do it just like GM did. nbsp;everything works and is done 100% correct.  The neutral safety switch works so you have to push the clutch in to start the car. and the reverse lights work too. I even bought a fully restored 1970 Chevelle 4-speed steering Colum ( the automatics are different than the 4-speed ones  . I also took great care to make sure that if myself or someone wanted to return the car to original it could be done no problem. When I cut the floor for the shifter. nbsp;I did a one piece perfect factory hole so the piece can be put back in very easily and NO cut wires. I bought all new wiring and everything just plugged in.   Every single part that was removed was saved even the floor insulation and yes even the numbers matching transmission .

The dash gauges conversion from idiot light to clock and teach was easy . The new gauges are the only thing repo but I bought the best ones on the market and you cant tell they are repo. Like the 4-speed conversion I bought a totally new dash wiring harness and a new front engine wiring harness . nbsp;no mickey mouse shortcuts on my Chevelle.

Now the engine . the engine was rebuilt years ago before I got the car. nbsp;so is it numbers matching. I don't know. nbsp;the block was decked to make it square so the code and vin are gone.  Like I said before  . the car is a very early build   (October 1969 ) and all the date codes  on everything . heads . nbsp;intake . carb . transmission( Has VIN on it) . 12 bolt rear all have a build date of August or September 1969. from what I see the date code for the block is April 25 1969. and the casting number is 3955272 . witch is 1969 396 2 or 4 bolt mains.  I was told buy the Chevelle club this is a 4 bolt main because the block is drilled with bigger holes that are buy the oil filter and plugged.  but to me that means nothing. I was also told by the Chevelle club that they have see cars before where the block casting date was much older than the heads or intake. nbsp; so with that being said. I believe this is a numbers matching car do to the fact that every other major thing on this car is original  ( even the engine lift hook has a part number stamp (1970 cars only )  .  The fact is that without numbers. no one can prove its numbers matching so I am selling this car as NOT a numbers matching block but I THINK  everything else is from carb to rear end  but NOT the block and my reserve price will reflect this too.  Buyers do your homework.   The only parts on this car that are missing that I can see are the original valve covers and the distributor . has an HEI distributor now.

The body and paint are awesome even standing right next to the car its better than new . the color is 1970 Chevelle Astro blue with black stripes. From what I see the body has its original doors. trunk . quarters . fenders . nbsp;hood looks like it is newer but I don't know  . The owner before me said that he had the trunk floor replaced because of some pitting not because of rot. The vinyl roof is in perfact shape I was told it was original but who knows.   This chevelle has the cleanest frame and floors I have ever seen with a car that has not had a frame off restoration. nbsp;they look like new . no pitting and not even rust scales inside the frame . this car never had rust at all . you can't hide a car that was rusty . even the rear-end has no pitting at all . you have to see it to believe it.

The interior . not much to say here . its as good as it gets and looks like new without being a concourse never driven car. This is a great car. Real SS . never rusted . everything and I mean everything on this car works . even the key buzzer works ( I disconnected it because it was driving me nuts ) . The paint is 10 years old but looks like it was done last week . sure there are some blemishes in the paint because I drive the car but you would have to look to find them. The bumpers and all the bright work are great.  This chevelle has absolutely no rust that I can see anywhere and never was rusted . all new suspension including bushings and springs. all new brakes. no cut wires at all not even under the dash no headers and has a 2 and a half inch stainless dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers .  original Harrison 4 core radiator . custom auto sound radio that fits into the original dash that is digital and plays an mp3 player or iPod. This is the most reliable good looking real 1970 SS Chevelles you will find for the reserve price that I'm asking and one look and drive and you will love this car . this car can be driven anywhere for as long as you want . never overheats . and the 4-speed shifts perfect and 100% everything works like it should on the car. I enter my chevelle SS at the Chevelle show every summer in my area and I win awards every year its that nice.  Remember. nbsp;I'm selling this car as a NON numbers matching block and the price will reflect that.  . If you want a real 1970 SS Chevelle that needs absolutely nothing and looks totally factory correct . ven all the plastic clips and clamps are just the way GM did it.  just buy it and drive it for years . this one is for you.  If you have any questions at all about the car just ask and I will clear anything up for you . call Todd at 519-260-0259 . nbsp;I will be home in the evenings.

One very important thing I must mention. this car will absolutely NOT leave my possession until all the funds are in my bank in U. S funds and cleared no matter how the buyer pays. thanks.
