Aston Martins are known for their unspeakable beauty -- perfectly drawn lines and luscious curves that have had generations of automotive writers thumbing through the thesaurus in search of unused superlatives. Rarely. though. have these classic British cars been able to back up their sleek silhouettes with performance that was any threat to rival exotics or comparatively mainstream Porsches. Introduced in 2006. the Aston Martin V8 Vantage Coupe is one of the exceptions. It's as lovely as any of its forbears. yet this exotic sports car is a genuinely good drive. too: quick in a straight line. sharp through the turns and eager to involve its driver in the experience.
Firepower comes courtesy of a 4. 3-liter V8 engine. Although a handful of components are shared with V8s used by Jaguar. Aston claims this engine as one of its own. The V8 develops 380 horsepower at 7. 00 rpm and 302 pound-feet of torque at 5. 00 rpm. By introducing a dry-sump oil system. Aston's engineers were able to mount it low in the chassis. It also sits behind the front axle. so this is very much a front-midengine car. A traditional six-speed manual transmission is standard fitment. but Vantage Roadster buyers can opt for Aston's Sportshift sequential manual transmission. Either way. power goes to the rear wheels.  Getting to 60 mph takes 5. 1 seconds in the Vantage coupe and the quarter-mile passes by in 13. 3 seconds at 106 mph.
Driving Impressions
Though other sports cars costing considerably less money can match or better the Vantage's straight-line performance. none. with the exception of the Porsche 911. can provide such an enjoyable and exotic driving experience overall. On a curvy road. the Vantage moves confidently. It slides progressively and returns to its intended path with little drama. all the while feeding its driver useful information about what's happening at pavement level. This 2007 Aston Martin V8 Vantage was sold new at Aston Martin of Seattle (Park Place) to a Canadian customer from Vancouver BC. It was built on October 29th 2006 and is recorded at Aston Martin as order #61190. It is painted Onyx Black over a Obsidian Black leather trimmed interior with silver stitching and a Tailors Grey headlinder. The interior fitings are in a Platinum finish and the Veneer is in Piano Black (extra option). Other options include: Delete Vantage Badge. Bright Finish Grill. HID Headlamp - Wash and Levelling. Powerfold Mirror Assembly. Brake Calipers in Black. Heated Front Seats. Garage Door Opener & Auto Dim Mirror. High Spec Alarm. Aston Martin Premium Audio. Memory Seats. & Blue Tooth connectivity.
The first and only owner purchased and immediately imported the car to Canada. It has always been registered in British Columbia and serviced at authorized service centers. Being a USA specification vehicle makes re-entry to the United States very easy. We are happy to assist with the process.
The CarProof records show no damage records. no accidents. and no insurance claims whatsoever against the vehicle. Service records date back to delivery and show that all recalls and regular maintenance have been compeleted. The most recent invoices were done at Aston Martin of Calgary. which included the 6th Year Maintenance and a seat heater recall. This was performed on February 17th of this year at 8. 45 miles and cost $1. 54. 16.
This V8 Vantage is like new and completely up-to-date with servicing. Our in-house detailer spent several days going over the car and it looks spectacular. The Onyx Black paint has a really deep shine with a slight metallic hint. It stands out far more than you'd expect a black car to do.
