Displaying the rakish lines of the earlier 356 Speedster but with greater interior comfort and everyday usability. the new for 1960 356B Roadster has become increasingly desirable among collectors. This early production 1960 example offers a unique opportunity to own a concourse-quality 356 that has been thoughtfully upgraded for sheer driving enjoyment

In spring of 1960 Competition Motors of Hollywood delivered this Roadster to its original owner. James K. Skeoch of Los Angeles. This Porsche's previous owner. a collector with an eye for meticulous detail commissioned a concours restoration which specified numerous upgrades to enhance the performance for every day driving.

The main restoration and upgrade was performed by the late Gary Kempton. His shop GK Restorations continues his legacy as one of the best in the world for restoring Porsche vintage motorcars. Among the shop's numerous prestigious awards for restored 356 models are several from the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance.

In 2008. the Roadster received a new top. as well as other minor enhancements. The most significant change made to this Roadster was the replacement of the original engine with an early Super 90. giving the car a considerable boost.

In addition to the more powerful engine. this Roadster was also upgraded with four-wheel disc brakes. a sport exhaust system. a 12 volt electrical system. chrome wheels. Talbot mirror. CD stereo under-dash with four very nicely integrated speakers and Hella fog lights.

Porsche race shop Klub Sport Racing in Riviera Beach. Florida recently performed a thorough service and installed a new set of Sachs shock absorbers.

Originally light ivory with a red interior this Porsche Roadster now sports a striking period correct metallic silver exterior with a midnight blue roof and interior. Notably. the color data plate on the doorjamb was sourced and stamped to indicate silver metallic.

The car is accompanied by a copy of the factory build sheet and owner's manual. tool kit. a boot and a jack. Furthermore the car comes with a beautifully fitted tonneau cover in dark blue to match the roadster top.

It was purchased by us at the prestigious Gooding Auction and displayed at Braman Miami world class service facilities as part of our Classics & Heritage Collection.
