First registered in May of 1939 in Blackpool when new this car was on the market for £360. 00. the road tax - £9. 00 per year. The Rover. went over to Northern Ireland where it was registered in 1958 to Hugh Whitfield in Co. Antrim. Around 1986 Sam Marsden of Larne. Co Antrim. rescued FUV374 in a rather sorry state and started the restoration. He fully restored the bodywork and the interior leather work and lining.

The current owner purchased the car in 2001 and carried on the restoration of the "bits out of sight". The wiring has been completely replaced. the engine has been completely rebuilt and the suspension renewed.

The engine is a straight six - 2147 cc - 16 horse power.
It has the infamous "freewheel" which allows gear changing without using the clutch - and removed the braking affect of the engine!
It has a sunroof and an opening windscreen for and ventilation.

Over the last 5 years this car has travelled to shows at a variety of venues from Fife in Scotland to Blandford Forum in Dorset.

It has won the PRE-WAR CLASS at:

Maryport Rotary Classic and Vintage Show.
Cockermouth Show. Vintage section.
Lakes all Rover rally Windermere.
Dalemain Classic & Vintage car show. Penrith.
Distington vintage vehicle show. West Cumbria.
Hethersgill Vintage Show. Carlisle.
Great Dorset Trophy for best entry of veteran and vintage car.

Whenever possible this car is driven to the shows and participates in club and show rallies and fun drives.
