The Jaguar 240/340 would replace the MKII 2. 4. 3. 4. 3. 8 range in 1968. and came with a number of significant changes. Leather gave way to Ambla (vinyl) and the heavy fluted bumpers were replaced with much neater. slimmer items. The fog and spot lamps were replaced with dummy air vent grilles and there was no. official. 3. 8 version. The 240 did gain performance from the E-Type straight port head and inlet manifold. which was fitted with SU carburettors . SU Carbs and an all-synchromesh gearbox with a working overdrive. This is a much nicer and faster drive than the older 2. 4 Model.
