BMW : M5 Base Sedan 4-Door

Up for auction is my completely stock E39 BMW M5. located in Toronto. Ontario. Canada. The only modifications are a tint on the windows and later model (face-lifted) Xenon Headlamps. Also very rare in that the car came from the factory with the comfort seat option. Based on Auto Trader Canada. this is the only e39 M5 currently for sale in the country. Rarer still to find a completely stock example that has had no accident damage history.  Currently odometer  reads 207. 00 Kilometres (which based on the conversion rate is equivalent to 128. 00 Miles). Given the vehicle is nearly 16 years old. this equates to just 12. 00 Km's or 8. 00 Miles per year.  While the pictures will speak for themselves. I will try to describe the good and the bad as best I can.

In terms of recent maintenance history. I have complete service records (including invoices showing all parts/work performed on the car) dating back to June 3. 2011. The amount spent on Parts & Labour for Repairs/Maintenance in this 3-4 year period totals over $11. 15. 12. substantiated with actual receipts. copies of which will be provided to the successful bidder.

Provided with the car are the following brand new parts. that I haven't got around to installing: Both Engine Accessory Drive Belts. Both Engine Air Filters and a Fuel Filter.  The car also comes with one Remote Key. One (Plastic) Valet Key and a pouch containing owners manuals. Service Manual etc. please see photo.  
Mechanically. the car is a beast with tremendous torque and power in all gears. This car can pull from a dead stop in 3rd gear without even a hint of vibration. Despite the age. most items work including Air Conditioning. Climate Control Settings. Electric Sun Roof. Electric Seat Functions (including memory settings). Power Windows/Door locks. Power Trunk lock. Rear Electric Sun Shade. Heated Seats. Even the Rear Park Distance Sensor works as it should and beeps when reversing. A few features currently not operational are the remote key (which is common due to battery failure) and the side mirrors which work perfectly except the right passenger side doesn't fold up (for parking in a tight spot). The car also has the original Motorola Telephone but I am unsure as to whether it works. From a mechanical standpoint. the only known issue is an intermittent Check Engine Light (CEL) for Secondary Air Pump poor air flow. The Secondary Air Pump is a device that pumps air for approximately 10 seconds on initial cold start up and is part of the emissions system. Commonly. the air passages on the e39 M5 get clogged up over time. This is so common on these cars that there are software updates available for deleting the sensor. As this error occurs only on initial start up and in no way affects performance. I haven't had the software update done. The software on the car is all original and I didn't want to modify with aftermarket performance software. If it bothers you. Turner Motor Sports in the States has the Shark software update to resolve the CEL. After the 2 power steering pipes were replaced. there are no oil leaks on the car and the engine splash pad is dry.  
Cosmetically and as is to be expected on a 16 year old car. there are minor dents. stone chips and scratches. especially on the front bumper and hood. The pictures came out great and probably downplay the cosmetic defects that I know the car to have. The original rims also have some scratches but the overall finish is remarkably good as can be seen in the photos. On the interior. the wooden strip (moulding) has come loose and requires fasteners to be replaced. The wooden trim has no cracks but has come undone on one end. All glass panels are original and have the BMW logos stamped.  
Again. please bear in mind that this is a 16 year old car with commensurate milage and by no means is in show room condition. Inspections either in person or by a qualified third party inspector/mechanic are recommended. All inspections should be performed prior to bid placement as there is no opportunity for changing your mind at time of pick up. For buyers residing in the Province of Ontario. I have a valid Emissions Certification (Ontario Drive Clean Program) that will come with the car.
