After the Le Mans winning D-Type Jaguars had cleaned up. Jaguar still had 16 chassis left and converted them in to road cars called the XKSS. These are now worth north of £5 million. with the one owned by Steve McQueen considerably more. so owning one is something of a dream for most. However some wonderful evocation/replicas have been built but these. especially when built in alloy. have sold for close to £400 000.

This car is a factory built LD/Ram/Realm version with a supertube chassis designed by Adrian Reynard of F1 and Indy car fame. and all Jaguar running gear featuring a 4. 2 engine and jaguar suspension with disc brakes all round. It is also unique in having a special feature.

The car was built in 1997 and has done 6k miles since. The V5 indicates the running gear was first registered in 1974 so the car will be able to be now registered as historic with no road tax payable.

This is a one owner car from build and was ordered with a rear exit exhaust for road use. 4 speed manual gearbox and standard 70s Jaguar 4. 2 engine. Dunlop racing type wheels. aluminium fascia and leather dashboard and seats in tan. Mini-liter steering wheel. and has not been raced or rallyed.

The car has just had a minor service after being laid up for 3 years ( was stored in stately home with carpeted garage) and now runs and drives really well. The engine could be upgraded easily for those of a racing bent but really it is great as it is with an abundance of torque and a wonderful analog old skool drive and i have just enjoyed a drive in the Dales with it and it is hard to fault. This car offers something of a appreciating bargain. Trade-ins considered.

And the unique feature? It has an extra seat with its own seat belt on the transmission tunnel for a child.
