Recently in from California this is a 1972 911 Targa. Original colour is very desirable signal yellow. At some point in the eighties it was updated with SC body panels. a 2. 7 engine and red paint. It has a Texas DMV sticker inside the front screen dated 1982.

We have the COA with the car. It was completed 1st November 1971 and first sold by Porsche centre Stuttgart making it european model.

This is a non-runner requiring restoration.

It needs some metalwork underneath including front suspension/fuel tank pan. partial floors and a little bit under one torsion tube mounting. The correct front wings. front bumper & bonnet as well as a complete rear bumper and engine lid are included to put it back to original specification. The actual parts are shown in the pictures and are worth approx. £2000.

The other metalwork looks good including around the Targa bar. the rear seat bowls. the kidney bowls look Ok. the inner sills. the bulkheads all look good.

The interior is mostly complete but dirty from years of storage. The Targa top needs a complete rebuild.

The engine is a 2. 7 from 1974 and turns freely. Its all hooked up and perhaps could be made to run but we would recommend removing the top end. heads etc to clean the bores. valves before trying to run it. The rest of the running gear is complete.

The values of these early cars are still rising and compared to some other quality classics they are still good value in MHO. This particular car could be restored to something near original - perhaps keeps the wide rear arches and the 2. 7 motor - and you would have a fabulous and very useable classic car.
