EXTERIOR
This Cosworth fettled Mercedes 190 presents in excellent order with the visual drama that only a dominating homologation special of the late 80′s and early 90′s can – considered aerodynamic additions for downforce were the order of the day with the typical deep chin spoiler. arch extensions and rear wing purposefully moving the game forward from respectable 4 door taxi cab to touring car legend. This example is finished in a sparkling shade of blauschwarz. a wonderfully executed combination that sits consistently well around the car whilst the bodykit mouldings retain excellent shape and integrity.

INTERIOR
Highly specified with a full black leather interior the deeply bolstered front seats have worn well over the years. with only some light drivers bolster wear present commensurate with age and use. There is very little wear to report in the cabin. with gearbox tunnel. sills and carpets all mark free. The wooden inlays and surrounds retain good lacquer and the fit and finish are pleasingly free of cracks or distortion. Some period additions from new. an oil temperature gauge. stopwatch and voltmeter. are key to assuring the driver of the homologation bloodline. sadly the stopwatch LCD display has run. a common problem but easily fixable. The rear bench is quite unique in housing two individual seats. a treat for the often overlooked rear passengers. offering support far beyond that of a typical setup. The boot area is very clean and puts forward a strong case for practical considerations.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Mercedes had to work hard on extracting every last drop from the 190 in an attempt to restore parity with the BMW E30 that had dominated the DTM series – enter the 2. 3L. Having been well serviced the engine pulls very well and it is on-cam when the car comes alive – really a very eager engine with a beautifully balanced chassis. The dogleg gearbox is a joy to use; 1st gear engages with minimum of fuss from cold and moves away cleanly and smoothly. whilst working the more familiar H pattern becomes totally intuitive over time. The gearbox linkage and associated bushings has been refreshed and drivetrain is in superb mechanical condition.

WHEELS. TYRES & BRAKES
The original teledial wheels sit proudly within the flared arches and present unmarked with no scuffs or damage to report. The tyre tread pattern and depth are consistently good all round the car with brakes in excellent operational order. with no lipping or surface corrosion of the discs. making short work of bringing this homologation special to a halt.

HISTORY FILE
This 2. 3 has a bulletproof history having had 17 visits to the main dealer over the years with the last entry in the book at 106. 54 miles. Mileage can be verified via the myriad of service invoice entries and MOT documentation. The car has had a full health check and a service bill for near on £3K with us and as such now sits on new rear shock absorbers whilst being treated to a new radiator and genuine exhaust amongst other work. All manuals and service books are present and correct alongside the spare key.
