EXTERIOR
The bold lines of this Mk 1 Capri present flawlessly under our studio lighting. The condition of the striking Maize Yellow paintwork is outstanding; the car is a real show-winner. It was fully restored several years ago by a previous owner who stripped the vehicle to the bare shell. New ‘original' front wings were fitted and the whole car was repainted in the correct colour.

The bodywork is perfectly straight down both sides. with the precise fit of the body panels a real testament to the restorer's attention to detail. Having been dry stored ever since. there is absolutely no corrosion to be found anywhere with no unsightly scratches either. The original chrome is near pristine. with only a couple of very minor imperfections to note. The vinyl roof appears in ‘as new' condition and all lenses and trim around the vehicle present beautifully.

INTERIOR
The interior is wonderful; especially considering it is totally original. The black vinyl sports seats are in excellent shape and remain comfortable and surprisingly supportive. The door cards are entirely scuff-free. and the dash remains immaculate. The only slight evidence of wear is to the outer edge of the leather-rimmed steering wheel.

Unsurprisingly the headlining is superb and the sun visors remain sag-free. The doorsills are perfect with no damage to the metal trim. The luggage compartment also presents very well.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Lifting the bonnet of this Capri reveals the mighty 3-litre Essex V6. With all plastics standing to attention. the engine bay is spotless with only very minor surface corrosion to a few components. Much like the exterior. the engine was entirely rebuilt. and as such there are no squeaks. rattles or knocks.

The suspension and running gear also hold no areas for concern. as everything is new. The car is as perfect underneath as it is on top.

WHEELS. TYRES & BRAKES
The handsome 13-inch black and silver alloys really look the part. Having been refurbished along with the rest of the car. they present to a very high standard with no corrosion or damage of any kind. Only the centre caps provide any evidence of the car's age.

The alloys are shod in a matching set of Falken tyres. each with plenty of tread remaining.

HISTORY FILE
First registered on 11th January 1971. this Ford has covered a mere 34. 85 miles since new. Present in the history file is the original Capri 3000GT Owner's Handbook. along with copies of period Capri documentation. several Owners' Club magazines. and a handful of previous MOT certifcates.

Clearly a Mk1 Capri fanatic. the previous owner spared no expense when restoring the vehicle. which is arguably more sound now than it was leaving the factory over 40 years ago. Furthermore. the car was featured at the NEC Classic Motor Show in 2012.
