The vehicle was imported to Ontario from Austin. Texas in September 2004 and has not. to the best of my knowledge. been winter driven here.

Exterior condition details: the vehicle has been repainted but the paint is old. faded and scratched; the body and frame metal are in good condition; there is some surface rust and there are small penetrations developing at the bottom of the rear doors; the bumpers are pitted and the rear bumper and trunk lid have been dented; the original chrome trim is intact with only one small piece (rear driver's side) having been damaged; the window and door gaskets (rubbers) are significantly deteriorated; the tailight lenses are aged. dried and chipped; the tires were new in 2013.

Interior condition details: black leather (naugahyde??); some seams are split/broken in both the front and rear bench seats; the carpets and headliner are in good condition; front kick panels are broken; the driver's side of the front seat shows advanced wear and detracts from the overall interior condition; .

Factory options: air conditioning; push button radio; power steering (small fluid leak); power brakes.

Known defects: Except as noted above the only known defects are in the electrical system and a steering column casting.

There is a persistent electrical problem which interferes with the charging system and dash board instrumentation.

I have replaced the battery and voltage regulator. had the alternator professionally tested. and tried to track down and fix the problem but. as the tree said to the lumberjack “I'm stumped”.

The casting where the gear shift lever connects to the steering column has a small piece broken out of it just where the shift lever locking pin attaches. A “non-invasive” temporary repair has been affected.

Also the wheel covers (hub caps); spare tire. bumper jack. lug wench. and the owner's and service manuals are missing.

History: The vehicle was originally sold by the Roy Butler Lincoln Mercury dealership in Austin Texas (dealership nameplate is intact). I have been told that it was built for Lester E. Palmer the then mayor of Austin but have been unable to confirm that information. Service and transit decals on the windshield suggest that it remained in Austin until August 2004. It passed through New York State shortly after leaving Austin and was first registered in Ontario in September 2004. I am the third (Canadian) owner having acquired it in March 2013 in lieu of repayment of a loan I made to its second (Canadian) owner.

I have a curious question, where is the Roy Butler Austin dealer nameplate located, is that on the license plate? In my batch of vintage car emblems I have a small metal badge or emblem that says "Roy Butler Austin" and recently learned it was from this dealer. Never seen one before, thought you might have a picture? I have a picture of my tag but can't attach it here. Trying to figure out if it is a collector item for someone who may be interested who is restoring a car that originated from this prominent dealership in Austin Texas. My search of the internet brought me to you, the only link I have found.
Hope you find or found a buyer, you have a great piece of history. Thanks for your time.
