A 1968 Olds 442 Coupe that will Blow You Away—and Everyone Else!

 The 1968 Oldsmobile 442s are highly sought after classics. but this car is a particularly nice example: 

·       Fully Restored

·       455 V-8

·       4-speed Muncie

·       Original Factory Air Conditioning converted to R134 

For those who like to decode VINs. there is attached a picture of the VIN plate.   That number is 344878M193055.  

An Exceptional Example! 

·       Paint and Chrome 

This Silver 442 has a high-quality respray that looks as new.    The silver finish has a deep shine and is nicely accented with black vertical stripes just behind the front wheels.   In addition. the car has a wing spoiler that is as dramatic as it is functional.  

The chrome and stainless is in excellent condition and nicely compliments the paint.   

And noteworthy. the body and underside of the car appear to be free of rust and corrosion with only normal surface rust on the underside.  

·       Interior 

The seat upholstery is black vinyl and is in very good condition.   The carpeting is black as is the headliner. both look great.   The door panels are also in very good condition.  

·       Engine 

The replacement 455 V-8 was reportedly built at Joe Mondello's Oldsmobile shop and produced about 500 hp +- that exhausts through coated headers.   The power of this engine is apparent as soon as one slips the clutch.  

·       Transmission/Rear End 

The transmission is a 4-speed Muncie.   The rear end has a 12-bolt differential with positraction.   There are anti-sway bars to provide better stability at speed.  

·       Comfort and Safety Systems 

Apart from the ground-pounding acceleration. the most unusual comfort feature is the original factory air conditioning upgraded with a R134 conversion kit.  

The five Oldsmobile Rally rims are mounted with Red Line tires that have most of their tread left.  

It is also a car where everything most everything works--horn. lights. wipers. turn signals.   About the only components needing attention are the radio which the new owner will probably want to replace with a modern AM/FM/Satellite unit and the backup lights.  

There are seat belts. front and rear. for added passenger safety.

Payment for this vehicle is to be by Wire Transfer only except for the required deposit of $500 which may be by credit card.   Pickup and shipping is the sole responsibility of the buyer. This deposit must be received within 3 days following the end of the auction and full payment is due within 7 days of the end of the auction.

If as the winning bidder you PERSONALLY come to our facility before the post-auction 7-day payment/pickup time expires. inspect the car and determine for ANY reason that you do not want to buy this car. we will cancel the sale and return your deposit less $100 to cover our time and expense for relisting and you will have no further obligation.   This is our assurance to you that the vehicle is all that you expected when you entered your winning bid.
