NO RESERVE!!! NO RESERVE!!! NO RESERVE!!!
1967 Mercedes Benz 250SE Sunroof Sedan
-Euro Car--180G Silver Body (originally 190G)--Purchased from original owners grandson--Complete Toolkit in trunk--Completely Straight--Panel Gaps are Excellent-
Another one of my projects that I have finally accepted I will never have a chance to finish.  I purchased this car 4-5 years ago and partially swapped out the original interior with this black MB Tex interior from another car.  The seats were pretty much new when I did it.  I rebuilt all the brake calipers. installed new brake hoses and replaced few small hoses in the engine bay.  That is the extent of the work I have done to the car.  It will need all the typical things that a car needs when it sits.  It runs and drives and has no issues going around the block. but I wouldn't drive it farther than that.  It will need belts. exhaust leaks fixed. door and trunk gaskets replaced and the interior finished.  The most serious problem that I have yet to confirm is the head gasket. I believe that needs replacing as the oil has a coffee look to it when I check it.  I suspect the coolant is leaking in to the oil.
The car was purchased in europe by the previous owners grandmother and she drove it over there until she imported it and used it in Carmel. CA until she passed.  The sticker for a Carmel Country club is still on the back glass.  When she passed the gentleman I bought it from inherited it and took it up to the state of Washington.
The paint on the car is actually quite nice. There are a few areas (the typical spots) that have a little bubbling in the paint (see pics) and there are also a few little chips.  But the car is completely straight. No dings or dents at a all.  Only a bit of surface rust in the back edge of the trunk. nothing in the side wells.  The rockers appear to be completely solid and only have some small areas of bubbling around them.  Underneath the door edges there appears to be bit of surface rust. but nothing serious.  The underside of the car is completely solid.
The chrome is average. but is good for a daily driver. There are few small spots on the front bumper that are bad.  The hubcaps are very nice.  The seat upholstery is quite nice but the rear seat backrest has splitting at sewn in cardboard strip that folds into the seat frame so it has come loose. That will need to be corrected for the seat back to sit properly.  The door panels up front are not matching.  One is leather and one is fabric.  The rear door panels that I have for the car are w109 SEL door panels so they will need to be trimmed to fit the shorter w108 door. or the full set of 4 will need to be replaced so all are uniform.  The carpet set in the car was also from a an SEL with a floor shift. so that is another issue.
I see this car as a solid starting point for a very nice daily driver once all the mechanical issues are sorted and the interior work is finished.  The working sunroof is a nice plus! But please keep in mind this is a project!
List of issues I have noted:Possible head gasket replacement neededTires are oldDoor and trunk gaskets needing replacementInterior needs to be finished (carpet. door panels. rear seat back fixed)Belts need replacement (the squeal and are old)Exhaust leaks need fixingSome pieces of wood need replacing and repair (1 on drivers door. A pillar drivers side. dash bow)Top dash pad is black and bottom is greyDoor panel armrests appear dyed. lazy jobLicense plate light needs fastening properlyDrivers side mirror needs new glass
Anything else that would be typical after having a car sit for a long period of time!
