At the heart of this GORGEOUS 1954 Mercury Monterey Special Custom Two Door Hardtop is the ORIGINAL - STRONG - (161 Horsepower) 256 CID Ford "Y-Block" V8 Motor that is running very well indeed. The motor also retains it's ORIGINAL 4 barrel intake manifold. ORIGINAL exhaust manifolds. ORIGINAL "Mercury" scripted valve covers. ORIGINAL "oil bath" air cleaner housing. ORIGINAL 4 barrel carburetor. Etc.  !! Sounds GREAT too with the factory style exhaust system.  The engine is backed by the SMOOTH - ORIGINAL - 3 speed "Merc'O'Matic" automatic transmission which also functions very well.
