This Rover P4 was registered on 16th September 1949 and is one
of three cars Rover registered that day. The other two are no
longer in existence and chassis number 04300003 is clearly the
oldest Rover Cyclops available in the world today. It appears that
it was used by a senior manager in their engine works (possibly for
evaluation) until 1952. before it was released to Henleys of London
and subsequently sold to a private buyer. The P4 was used by the
second owner regularly until 1967 when it was put into a garage in
Harrow and it didn't see daylight again for the next 45 years. In
2012. the vendor was offered the chance to buy her and being a man
with substantial motor trade knowledge. he welcomed the chance to
re-commission a Rover P4. What he didn't realise was the importance
of this car and it wasn't until Rover Sports Chairman Mike Maher
and James Taylor (author of Rover P4-The Complete Story) visited
the vendor and inspected the car to confirm the significance of
this Rover.

Fortunately. JNX 125 was stored well and remains in remarkably
good order. taking into account she is 65 years old and in original
condition. There is evidence of some paint repairs although it
would seem they were done some 50 plus years ago and in addition to
this the current vendor had to do a local repair to the offside
front wheel arch. Supplied with a V5 registration document and a
current MoT test certificate valid until 27th June 2015. we are
advised this Rover P4 drives very well. with even the freewheel
functioning correctly. Taking into account the age. historical
importance and originality of this P4 Cyclops; this is an
opportunity to purchase a piece of British motoring heritage that
is very rarely available.
