The inspiration behind all the great BMW's since the Seventies. br/>the 2002 still retains an air of cool. One of the most famous
offerings ever to come out of the Baian Motor Works. the BMW 2002
has since gone down in history as an automotive icon. Wrapped in
the pretty Michelotti-penned two-door body-shell that was debuted
on the 1602 and with an energetic two litre lump under the hood. br/>the 2002 enhanced BMW's reputation for compact sporting saloons.
BMW certainly saved the best till last with a model called the 2002
Tii. The '02's popularity endures to this day. but their numbers
are dwindling so good ones are now highly sought after.

This extremely straight and well presented top-end version of
the BMW 2002 range benefits from an earlier restoration. It was
then painted in the classic and correct BMW Golf Yellow with black
Alpina decals and de-chromed. Period Alpina flat-top wheel arches. br/>Alpina front splitter and rear boot spoiler have also been fitted
with the interior sporting Corbeau race seats. a black cloth
interior. Alpina black headlining. additional instruments and an
original Motolita steering wheel. The engine is also freshly
rebuilt with dynamometer sheets showing power output of 140bhp. It
is running with twin 45 Weber carburettors. a gas-flowed cylinder
head. oil cooler. silicone hoses and an Alpina rocker cover and oil
cap. strut brace and a new stainless exhaust system. The wheels are
correct Alpina alloys with new 205/60x13 tyres. period Lucas
rear-mounted reversing lamp and headlight stone guards. There is a
comprehensive history file showing much spent with Jaymic BMW as
well as a quantity of old MoT test certificates and additional
invoices. It is reported to drive superbly and certainly looks
every inch the fire-breathing Alpina from the 1970's.
