Ford 10 CX Tudor Deluxe

This classic Ford 10 CX De Luxe is in remarkable condition for a car that is 79 years old. This is most likely due to the fact that it has only had four owners upto 2012. It was bought new in 1936 by a well respected businessman. an ironmonger from Pocklington. just to the east of York. The third owner was a child of six at the time who grew up in Pocklington and remembers the car from new. . If away from home and encountering heavy rain. Mr Buttle was known to find shelter for the car and make his way home by bus. collecting it later when the weather was better. Mr Buttle treasured this car and owned it for 53 years until 1989 when it was acquired by Mr Bob Wilkinson. the Secretary of the Ford Y & C Model Register who kept the car for nine years. Another member of the club. the South Yorkshire Regional Contact. Mr Ken Sleight. recognised the car as the same car he knew in his childhood and so when Mr Wilkinson decided to sell it. Mr Sleight bought it to add to his collection. At this time the car had only covered 56000 miles. The car was then brought up to the standard we see today. It had a full engine rebuild. a new headlining and the paintwork refreshed along with numerous other smaller tasks. Modern indicators were fitted to the bumper brackets to improve safety but these could easily be removed if required. The original semaphores still work . Since then it has appeared twice at the Birmingham Classic Car Show and has been used to tour the country and Ireland without major problem. Recently the car has taken part in classic car events and creates a lot of interest as a lot don?t know what it is . Up to to the present day another approx. 1000 pound has been spent on a new stainless exhaust . heels have been powder coated . ew tyres. ew battery with isolator. Most of the brightwork has been re chromed . ew ?spoon? Ford badge . New carpets . nd a few other smaller items . There is a box of spares too with the car. Although the car is now MOT exempt as it was manufactured prior to 1960. it has an MOT until December 2014 and it passed with no advisories. The history file contains numerous old MOT certificates and a collection of invoices detailing the work completed over the past 15 years. The file also contains an original buff logbook showing Mr Buttle's ownership details and a previous V5 showing the second and third owners. The car still retains it's original valuable transferable registration number? and this is included in the selling price. We hope that the buyer retains the number on the car as to remove it would be a sacrilege. This car needs to be seen in person to appreciate how good it is. The original wire wheels have been powder coated to last a lifetime including the spare . The tyres are all as new . The original chrome centres are all in excellent condition .

Exterior


The bodywork and paint are super straight . The car has been painted in its original colour many years ago and still looks superb to this day . The car is good enough to take prizes at classic shows. Most of the chrome has been re chromed and again is superb . The stance of the car is fantastic from any angle . We particularly like the way the B pillar in in front of the suicide doors angles outwards . The windows have a little unusual trick too . If you wind all the way to close then go a fraction more they drop down for a vent . The rear windows wind down too. The wind out safari front screen really adds character. The original semaphores both work aswell as now having safer indicators.
Interior & Equipment
The original interior is in great shape. aving been treated to a new wool carpet . The dials all work and are all original . The original seats are all in very good order . The wool headlining is in A1 condition
