Four-speed manual transmission 240 Diesels are hard to find. I have owned this one for three years and enjoyed it. It has never let me down. Have a slightly newer one now. so this one is in the way. Vacuum power locking system works well. Cruise control works well. Engine shuts off when ignition switch is shut off. Blower motor for heater and air conditioner is not working. Power sun roof works but I rarely open it. Driver's door has new door latch so it shuts with two fingers--you do not have to slam it. Electric clock keeps perfect time. Aftermarket radio stopped working about a year ago--not sure why. Clutch is good; brakes are good. Odometer does not work--says 220. 00 miles. but the speedometer works fine. I estimate at least 250. 00 miles. Car does not use oil between oil changes. unless you go more than 3. 00 miles between changes (estimated miles). Back glass needs a new rubber seal--it will leak a bit in a hard rain storm and rattle at idle. but I keep the car garaged when not in use. so it has not been an issue with me. This car has no rust (Texas car) and no dents to speak of. There is a slight. maybe 1/4" indentation in lower right rear door--probably rubbed up against something years ago. but you can't always see it unless the light is just right. Upholstery is original M-B tex. and has held up well. There is one worn spot at lower left of driver's seat. Seat springs are okay and still very supportive. Dashboard pad is cracked. but covered by a specially made cover.

Tires are good. maybe half of the tread is left. I have two sets of wheels that go with this car. The ones on it now are from a later model Mercedes. I have the older. correct ones with older tires mounted on them. to go with this sale. if you want them. All of the gauges work. All doors. hood. and trunk close and align nicely. I do not think the car has ever been wrecked. It has been repainted before I owned it. It is a high-quality paint job that could pass for the original paint--it is that nice. Previous owner was a concrete and paving contractor. who ruined the driver's carpet with tar. so I use a replacement floor mat and keep the original carpet panel in the trunk as a trunk mat. There is a stain in the carpet on the side of the transmission tunnel where the oil gauge leaked once when a mechanic did not tighten it enough. It does not leak now. Dashboard guage lights work. Console and heater control panel have chips in the wood veneer.

Car runs well. drives well. and is very dependable. I would not hesitate to drive it across the country. It is currently inspected and licensed through end of December. Sometimes. at low speed (under 25 mph). there is a noise in the transmission. that I think is a bearing. It does not make the noise every time I drive it. but I have to be honest and tell you that a new owner may have to replace the 4-speed transmission or get this one looked at. There is a good. used one on Ebay right now for $700. with a 60-day guarantee. That and the non-working blower motor are why I am selling this car. Fix those two things. and this car will give many more years of service. and it is fun to drive with the 4-speed which. while still slow to accelerate. is a lot faster than the automatics. This is a very good car. that is worth fixing. but I need the room.

I reserve the right to end the auction early. because the car is advertised elsewhere and could sell before this auction ends.

I am in Leonard. Texas which is 60 miles northeast of Dallas. The car is in my garage and can stay here for 30 days after the auction's conclusion. After that. you need to pay me for storage or come get it. Clear Texas title is in my name. Ebay will not accept my car's vehicle ID #. which is WDBAB23A6DB39522. so to list this car for sale. I have to call it a 1980 model. but it is a 1983 model. It is not a grey market car; the VIN has not been changed or messed with. and I am not typing it wrong. but Ebay still won't accept it. and of course. there is no one at Ebay that you can talk to about it. I have a clear Texas title in my name and the VIN on the car matches the one on the title. so there is no funny business going on here. I have a good record of many years on ebay.
