This was sold. but the buyer had some family problems and wasn't able to go through with the sale.  He never saw the car - I only mention that because I don't want any potential buyer to think we walked from the deal because he didn't like it or saw something that was wrong.
I am selling my 1962 190SL which I have owned since June of 1989.
Mechanically the car is perfect.  It starts right up. runs with no problem and is really fun to drive.  The defroster even works when it's raining.
I would call this car a daily driver.  It's really nice looking and gets a lot of attention. but it's not perfect.  The body is good. the bumpers are stainless steel (I have the old chrome ones which are pretty beat up).  The interior needs to be fixed.  There are no rugs right now. but that's easy to fix.  However. the seats and the door panels need to have new leather on them.  I think the most difficult part will be sealing the windshield and putting new leather on the dashboard.  The leather that is there now is cracked and needs to be replaced.
The car comes with a new convertible top as well as a hard top.  The exterior of the hard top is perfect. but the interior liner needs to be replaced.
Much of the chrome on the car could also stand to be redone. but it's not rusty. just 52 years old.
The car has Weber carbs. which really increases the power.  I have the original carbs also. which are tricky to keep tuned.  I also have the original clock which is not running but could easily be fixed.  They go for about $500. 00 these days.
The car is fun to drive. everyone loves to look at it.  It's one of Mercedes true classics and will always retain it's value.  I hate to get rid of it. but it's time.
I am not sure that the mileage on the odometer is the correct one.  When I bought it in 1989 it was around 59. 00 miles. but for some reason the title that was transferred said 80. 00.  I've only put about 3. 00 miles on it since then. so the current reading is 62. 56.  I have no way of knowing if that's the actual mileage or if there was a change in the odometer at some point before I bought it.
