1955 Chevrolet Bel Air, Convertible

You are bidding on a newly finished 1955 Chevy BelAir Convertible with just 74. 00. documented. original. miles and less than 200 miles since completion.

This Convertible is covered in PPG Viper Red and Shoreline Beige. It was then rubbed to the perfect shine you see. All new chrome includes front and rear bumpers. grill. head lamp. tail light bezels. turn signal bezels. door handles. and more. Most of the stainless is new. and what was not replaced. has been rubbed to a "like new" shine.

All new glass and rubber seals accompany the brand new beige power top. This includes the pump and all new wiring. as well as protective boot cover. The top unfolds to reveal a complete new original-style interior. This includes door panels (front and rear). carpet. carpet padding. seat covers (front and rear). arm rests (front and rear). floor mats. and rear arm ashtrays.

A Billet Specialty steering wheel is attached to the GM. chrome tilt column that leads to the stock 605 power steering box.

The trunk has been custom covered in red carpet with molded sides and a flat bottom that has an access cover to the relocated battery. The trunk also has all new rubber seals. .

Under the hood is a 400 small block Chevy that has been bored . 030 over to a 406 that produces 400 horse power. Goodies include a steel crank with 4-bolt mains and Eagle cam. It is topped off with Edlebrock DuraShine intake & 750 carb. with a Billet Specialty air cleaner. Chrome valve covers. wire looms. and all chrome Serpentine belt system.

Keeping it all cool is an aluminum. fully polished. PRC (Performance Rod & Custom) 4 core radiator & support. with twin 11-inch electric fans.  

The 400 automatic turbo transmission is dressed with a chrome pan and converter cover. The transmission cooler is located at the outside frame rail on the passenger side & is feed with steel-braided lines.

The stock chassis has been media blasted. sprayed with Duralined before the low-gloss black was applied.

It was then fitted with 2-inch tubular upper and lower A-arms in front. and includes all new hardware. In the rear. new 2-inch drop leaf springs with 1-inch blocks and hardware have also been added. This combo gives the convertible that sweet stance.

Stopping this BelAir convertible are 4 wheel disc brakes with 11-inch drilled. slotted. and vented rotors. They are all fed from a dual chrome master cylinder and power booster.

The BelAir rides on Billet Specialty Vintex dish wheels (front 17x8 and rear 20x10). with new Kuhmo tires (215/40zr15 front and 275/35zr20 in rear).

The aluminized 3-inch Flow Master exhaust with foot long chrome tips produce a very aggressive. throaty sound.

The trunk lid does not fit as well as I would like it to and the inside handle on the drivers door is cracked.

A stack of receipts and most of the restoration photos with go with sale of the vehicle. I also have extra paint of both colors.
