Chevrolet : Camaro Z28 for sale
Current customer rating: (201 votes ) based onTHIS IS ONE AWESOME LOOKING Z28!!!
I traded for this so I could put it next to my '74 TA(and man does it look GR8 next to it) but I'm considering selling it to buy a rare green/green '79 Z28 like I used to own.
A buddy of mine had built this car and man did he spend some bucks on it!
First off. y buddy works for a high end paint store here in Houston so this baby was painted with the BEST paint/BEST paint materials out there(all PPG)!
Car started life black but my buddy took it apart and then made/created this PERFECT silver color for it!
This shade of silver is a little brighter and cleaner then the shade of silver that GM put on them in 1979.
Next. y buddy's buddy owns a high end chrome/polishing shop here in Houston and he paid his buddy $500. 00 just to professionally polish all 4 wheels and then he had them painted to match new paint on car. hen he added new center caps. nd then. e mounted a brand new set of raised white letter BFG's to wheels. AND THEY LOOK AWESOME!
And. or his liking he only wanted 80/81 Z28 wheels so this is why car has these. He also wanted the 80/81 Z28 grille emblem so he bought a brand new one and he added it.
Next. e polished all glass moldings. e added new weatherstripping. e added new front grilles. f course he put on new decals/stripe kit after new paint. e had new carpet put in it. e had door panels put in it(which drivers side one is a little faded up on top now from having window down I guess- sun got to it a little bit I guess ?) but some spray color dye will fix it perfectly).
Also. ar has a new dash overlay. t has new chrome door seals. y buddy restored aluminum dash trim himself with correct paint and it is not perfect but it does look nice.
Next. ar's headliner has been redone. eats have been redone and are extra nice. nd. ar has a brand new high $ center console.
It also has a MINT 'oldskool pullout Alpine cassette stereo(he was trying to stay more period correct here which is why it has no CD stereo).
Now. or car's powerplant: Motor is supposed to be from a same era Corvette?.
I haven't ever checked #'s on motor but my buddy had bought motor from a mutual friend of ours and I know that our mutual friend had always said that he had removed it from a low mileage wrecked vette. And then our mutual friend had rebuilt it and it was rebuilt pretty much stock except for adding a more high performance cam to it.
"Mutual friend" had put this motor in a SWB truck and then he wrecked truck and he didn't care to rebuild truck after it had gotten wrecked so he pulled motor out before scrapping truck and he sold it to our friend.
Motor runs/sounds GR8! Especially after my buddy recently added a brand new Edlebrock carb to it.
Also. y buddy had put flowmaster's on it awhile back and between lite cam and flow's. t sounds way better than any stock Z ever did!
Its 4 SPEED trans is awesome too! It functions perfectly. owever. think that its linkage may need to be adjusted just a little bit because clutch pedal has to be really pushed all the way to the floor to let trans go into any gear?. This has to be a very minor deal though!
My buddy rarely drove this car ever since he bought/restored it(his main baby is a '70 Chevelle SS) and one day earlier this year he drove it to work and while on the phone with me he wasn't paying attention and he let it roll backwards into his co-workrers new F150 and no damage happened but its rear bumper cover flexed a little on corner and a little paint peeled off-NO BIG DEAL. EXT WEEK MY PAINTER WILL BE ADDRESSING THIS.
And then. ecently I was putting a new ignition switch in steering column and I broke a part off of turn signal switch so I need to put a new one it in(I already bought a new one for it).
Car is NOT perfect but it is NICE!
My buddy spent a lot of $ on this car(like 9 + grand on it and this is not factoring in he got a GR8 deal/price on motor and especially $ spent/saved on its paint job)!!!
So. f you add up $ spent on it. ven my buy it now price is a very good deal!
Again. used to own a '79 Z in moss green/green and I kind of want another one.
However. ed and green are my 2 most fave colors and I can live with keeping this baby if I do not see the right kind of $ for it!
LAST!
AND THIS IS AN IMPORTANT DEAL!
THIS IS A NON AIR CAR!
IT WAS BORN WITHOUT AIR!
CAR WAS BOUGHT OUT OF CA SO I GUESS THAT IT WAS ORDERED W/O AIR!
SO. T IS WHAT IT IS! OF COURSE I WISH THAT IT WAS AN AC CAR BUT IT'S NOT THE END OF THE WORLD THAT IT IS NOT(+ IT CAN ALWAYS BE ADDED IF WANTED).
I'll add motor pics in the next day or so.
Motor compartment is clean. otor has chrome valve covers + a chrome air cleaner on it but this is it as far as custom stuff. esides these things motor is/looks like any old stock 350!
Thanks for looking and if needed. can recommend a fast/reasonably priced auto transporter.
Oh. nd I just wanted to add 3 more things.
Tach is not currently working???(couldn't be anything big though)
Also. ar has a brand new front windshield and since pics were taken of interior. bought/added a brand new set of RED color factory GM floormats. orrect for car. dds a LOT to car!
