When it comes to being a street rod enthusiast. there's no time like the present. Virtually anyone with a nice savings account and a little bit of automotive know-how can build an entire custom car with killer good looks and ground pounding performance. And the best part about these creations is: they're every bit as road ready as showroom fresh sports cars with twice the amount of style! This classic 1937 Ford sedan is a professionally built custom which mixes the best attributes of a 'velvet rope and red carpet' show car with the streetability of a well-tuned muscle car. Beneath its crowd gathering body. you'll find a reliable 350 cubic inch V8. a stalwart automatic transmission. a sophisticated aftermarket suspension and a whole lot of other top notch hardware which makes its $63K list price even more unbelievable than its custom pinstriping. If you're a hardcore street rod fan who's been looking for the perfect custom to show off at the next cruise night AND enjoy on the open road. you're search is over!

So many of today's customs are cursed with no chance of ever seeing the open road or even prowling a peaceful town street; instead. they're paraded around on trailers. idled through parking lots and carefully rolled into garages. Not so with this awesome '37 Ford. It's a super slick street rod that was built to win trophies alongside the best show queens and blister the pavement with the quickest muscle cars! The build started when a clean. all steel body was bolted between a fresh set of steel fenders and rubber-lined running boards. Once that body was completely solid. and those fenders were completely smooth. the entire package was fully disassembled and professionally restored. And finally. in the name of great looks and universal appeal. a top notch combination of vivid blue and bright silver urethane was professionally applied. meticulously detailed with custom pin stripes and carefully sealed in a glossy clearcoat shell. The result is one fine looking street rod which displays nary a ripple or misaligned panel anywhere. presents a finish that glistens like glass. and possesses just enough authenticity to satisfy both fans and judges alike.

There really isn't much you can do to make a late 30s Ford more attractive. The brand's streamlined styling was a home-run when originally introduced; and today. it's a stunning example of some of the strongest elements of the highly regarded Art Deco movement. So. when you build a hot street rod like this. it's best to let the car's original curves do the talking and simply enhance what's already there. At the front of this slick '37 Ford. a painted and stainless-trimmed grille sits between a pristine chrome bumper and two sculpted headlights which incorporate hidden turn signal bulbs above traditional halogen filaments. Behind that grille. a rear-hinged hood meets lightly smoked glass that's cleared by bright stainless wipers. sealed by fresh black weatherstripping and capped by color-keyed drip rails. Below that hood. chrome-trimmed air extractors lead the eye to traditional steel doors that are fitted with old school claw hinges. classic chrome mirrors and correct. streamlined door handles. And at the back of the car. correct chrome trunk hinges ride above traditional blue dot tail lights. a second pristine chrome bumper and a correct chrome trunk handle.

'Don't fix what ain't broke' might apply to the looks of this awesome Ford humpback; but when it comes to the car's performance. 'bigger is always better'! Lift the glossy silver hood and you'll find a tough 350 cubic inch Chevrolet V8 that's every bit as smooth as it is reliable. Top dead center. a ball-milled air cleaner funnels wind into a chrome Holley 4-barrel carburetor that's outfitted with polished stainless fuel lines and a fully-functioning electric choke. That twisted and perfected air/fuel mixture slides into a coated Winter intake which feeds eight sequentially fired cylinders that are sparked via fresh Ron Francis wiring. an MSD Blaster SS coil. a high quality MSD distributor and loomed Taylor plug wires. At the sides of that intake. polished Chevrolet center-bolt valve covers hang a bowtie branded caps above ceramic coated shorty headers. And at the front of that intake. an efficient serpentine belt spins a polished alternator and a polished AC compressor above a coated water pump. The clean and smoothed engine compartment is relatively sparse aside from a proven Walker radiator and a quick-spinning electric puller fan. And every one of its surfaces is finished in the same vivid blue urethane as the car's exterior panels. allowing the thoroughly detailed motor to create plenty of trophy winning contrast.

Behind this sedan's fully detailed small block you'll find a fully rebuilt GM Turbo-Hydramatic 350 3-speed automatic transmission that's one of the toughest and most versatile gearboxes to ever leave a Detroit design lab. That proven transmission spins a stalwart Ford nine inch rear end that's bolted into a Total Cost Involved Mustang II front and traditional leaf rear suspension. Quick stops and precise turns come courtesy of both power rack and pinion steering and power front disc and rear drum brakes. Spent gases flow from the car's coated headers into completely coated. true dual pipes. Power flows through an attractive set of polished Billet Specialties wheels which spin 195/60R15 Goodyear Eagle RS-As in front of 235/65R17 Goodyear Eagle RS-As. And not a detail was missed on the bottom of this show-stopping Ford with niceties like an electric vacuum brake pump. a polished aluminum driveshaft. a fresh plastic fuel tank. a deep aluminum transmission pan. an auxiliary transmission cooler and solid. undercoated floors rounding out the details.

Open the doors of this killer classic and you'll find a tasteful custom interior that combines the car's spectacular blue paint with acres of supple leather upholstery. In the middle of the cockpit firm and modern seats are supportive. feel soft enough to take a nap on. and feature clean chrome piping. At the sides of those seats. custom door panels hang slick color-keyed inserts behind correct chrome handles. curved leather armrests and attractive stainless accents. Below those seats. fade-free carpet complements fully integrated speakers and custom chrome foot pedals. In front of those seats. a stylish and simplistic dash hangs attractive Classic Instruments gauges next to polished accessory knobs. finished air conditioning vents and prerequisite custom pinstriping. And above those seats. a custom fur headliner is stretched tightly around a small Sony head unit. In front of the driver. a polished banjo-style steering wheel spins a black rim and a traditional V8 horn button around a chrome tilt column. And behind the cockpit. a color-keyed trunk hides a Sony 6-disc CD changer. a Kicker amplifier and a Kicker subwoofer behind enough luggage space for a fun weekend adventure.

As with any extensive build. this awesome Ford custom comes with both a stack of build photos and a pile of restoration receipts.

As cool as it is classic. this '37 Ford street rod is a vision in both showmanship and usability. You really can't ask for a more impressive custom car. and you certainly can't build one this cool for anything near our list price. Tired of all the run-of-the-mill red '32s you see everywhere? Step up to something different. Step up to a custom that's ready to show AND go!
