Wagon 3100 Street Rod Lowered Air Ride Bel Air Nomad

You are bidding on a super nice fuel injected 1970 Custom C10 Chevy Suburban with rear air ride that is in excellent shape. very clean and ready to be driven anywhere.   These are becoming increasingly more difficult to find in good shape and are only going up in value.   The objective of this project was to build a super cool dependable cruiser with a great blend of the old with the new that could be driven anywhere.   The complete drive train. interior and suspension were removed and replaced with more modern mechanics and suspension making this ride much improved and way more practical than whenever it rolled off the assembly line in 1970.    Here are some of the features:

Engine Compartment & Drive Train:

With the more modern running gears. this suburban will cruise down the interstate at 80mph with no sweat while getting much better gas mileage compared to a carbureted 350 engine.

700r4 automatic transmission w/overdrive

Engine has all new sensors/senders for computer and gauges

Drive shaft  was rebuilt w/ all new universal joints

Newer model rear tank w/ internal baffles and new fuel pump

New exhaust system  w/ new dual mufflers. has a nice mellow sound…runs through the mid crossmember so that NO exhaust shows underneath from the side

Tilt Power Steering

Large radiator…engine could run on the equator for days and not get hot

New ball-milled open air filter…stud kit was used in order to convert the TBI filter housing to an open element filter in order to give the engine a retro look

Suspension:

 The stance of this suburban was done the right way in order to maintain the correct geometry and handling of this ride.    The front end is super tight and was professionally aligned so that it rides and drives excellent at any speed.

New McGaughys Drop kit w/ New Front drop spindles & front springs

The rear was bagged for an excellent ride and height adjustment…. kit includes 2 rear bags with top and bottom mounting brackets. small air tank. paddle valve w/pressure gauge. span >  and the a/c compressor is currently used to fill the tank.   You can upgrade as you see fit. or easily remove the kit and install a set of rear springs.   If you want. I will install a set of new rear drop springs in exchange for the bags. no problem whatsoever.

5 Lug Conversion…the entire front suspension was converted to a newer model chevy('73-'87) front crossmember and a-arms…new bushings and upper & lower a-arm joints were installed

Interior:

Excellent blend of the old with the modern comfort and convenience of the new.   Interior looks like it came out in this vehicle and makes for a more enjoyable and comfortable ride than the stock "bus" seats that came in these vehicles.

New digital JVC CD player w/ remote…and built-in Bluetooth technology with aux port for ipod/iphone hookup

Very nice sound system w/ brand new front & rear Alpine speakers…6” in the front aftermarket kick panels & 6x9” in the rear with JBL amp and a 12” adjustable Memphis Car Audio subwoofer

Original A/C cab…comes with compressor. but A/C lines will need to be finished…my next step with this project was to install a Vintage A/C system

All glass is either new or in perfect shape w/ new tint and all new seals except wing glass

All gauges work…speedometer runs about 10 mph fast

Exterior:  

The sheet metal of this truck is in great shape…Is it perfect? NO. it has a few minor  bubbles. nicks & dings. and some rust underneath the doors.   Again. nothing major. I just want to be honest and make sure you understand that it does have a few minor quirks from being driven.   The undercarriage is in great shape. note the pics.   

Grey/Burgundy base coat/ clear coat paint is approximately 2 yrs. old…the top grey color is in almost perfect shape…the lower burgundy color does have a few nicks & small dings from being driven.   Sorry for the picture quality. but the color looks much better in person than in the pics.   And as far as the paint goes. the quality is as good if not better than what comes out on the newer model Chevy vehicles.

If you are looking for a nice classic vehicle that the entire family can enjoy. then you need look any further.   With a few minor tweaks (engine dress up & minor cosmetic repairs). this would be a very high end ride that you would not be afraid to pull into any show.    Again. all the old drive train has been replaced with a 350 Chevy fuel injected TBI engine and 700r4 automatic overdrive trans. and all suspension has been upgraded and rebuilt in order to make this vehicle as dependable and practical as possible.   The complete interior has been modernized as well with the comfort and amenities offered with today's vehicles.   Seats and interior from the carpet to the headliner were meticulously installed and appear to have come out of the factory that way.    This suburban was built to be driven and can be anywhere…. it is a true “ turn key” and drive home vehicle…don't worry about bringing a trailer to pick it up…. fly in and drive home!
