Lincoln : Continental Convertible

Just consigned from a private collection is this super-rare Lincoln Continental convertible with “suicide” doors with 58. 10 original miles. Only 3. 56 of these cars were ever made. This car is in stock appearance and is in mostly original factory condition. The car starts. runs and drives. This rare convertible is for parts or restoration. The current owner/collector is selling certain vehicles from his collection as his tastes have changed. No trades.

Body: The body is fairly straight and doesn't have any major dents. Chrome and stainless are in nice condition. no major pitting but they need to be polished. Fenders. hood and quarters appear to be good but it is wearing the original paint which is faded through and there are surface rust spots all over. Doors are rusted out but they open and close. Trunk has a hole in the center of the lid. Someone patched most of the floor pans with sheet metal. The windshield is good. No cracks. Most of the car is there as far as trim goes. Convertible top canvas is gone but there is a new replacement one that comes with the car. Tires are poor. Brakes are very poor.

Options include power steering. power brakes. power windows. power top. power locks

Interior: Black interior is in fair to poor condition. Headlights. marker lights and clock work. Everything else is non-operational. It does have a very nice steering wheel and doesn't appear to have any cracks in the steering wheel.

Items to note: Brakes are very poor. There is one key. The car has a legal notarized New York Bill of Sale (New York doesn't have titles for classic cars). But the owner is trying to obtain an Ohio title but there is no guarantee. It will be noted later if we get it. There are no extra parts. What is on the car is all that comes with it. This is a restorable car but it will need extensive work to be restored. Please ask your questions before bidding.

I have made my best effort to accurately represent the car based on my extensive car expertise. what I have observed in evaluating it and preparing it for sale. and what I have been told by the owner. but this is the extent of my knowledge. Terms: Contact should be made by the buyer within 48 hours of auction close. A non-refundable $500 deposit is due within 48 hours of end of auction close (deposit will be accepted through Paypal). Balance due by 11/1/14 days of auction close as cash or wire only. Due to space limitations and subsequent auction listings. the car must be paid for and picked up by 11/1/14 unless both parties agree on other arrangements. If the terms of this auction are not adhered to. the car will be immediately relisted.

I am not responsible for any fees. or taxes or any out-of-pocket costs. Buyer is responsible for all state. county. city taxes and fees. as well as title/registration fees in the state that the vehicle will be registered. No warranty. sold as is. Vehicle has a clear Ohio title.

Will not ship but will try to work with you if you hire a shipping company. However. since this is my residence. arrangements will have to be made for the shipping company to pick up the car when I can be home to attend it. Buyer is responsible for all shipping and related arrangements and payments. Vehicle must be paid in full before it leaves my premises and I assume no responsibility for damages incurred after leaving my premises.
