Believed to be an original 283/270 horsepower solid lifter car. 1 of 2. 27. due to the original 6500 RPM Redline Tachometer.

Prior owner history:
This roadster is known to have been in the Fort Wayne. Indiana area since at least 1974. as evidenced by the Indiana Purdue Parking Sticker remaining on the windshield. It was inspected in 1979 by the State of Indiana and documented with the same 88262 miles as seen currently on the odometer. It is believed that the current 1966 327 cubic inch engine was installed prior to this time and the cables were not properly re-installed to the odometer or tachometer.
The car was last licensed and driven on the road in 2004. It has been parked in a dry barn since that time.

The drive train currently installed in the Corvette includes a 1966 Chevrolet 327 cid engine. factory rated at 220 horsepower. It has a large Holley 4-barrel carburetor. The 4-speed transmission is believed to be a 1964-1965 T-20 or M-21 unit with casting number 3851325. The rear end is believed to be the original 1961 Posi unit. Other items believed to be original to the car include the cable distributor and the correct original dated Harrison expansion tank. The exhaust was replaced with Flowmaster mufflers. The cars DOES run and drive on a limited basis. It will need tuned to run smoothly and the brakes require inspection and updates. New brake lines and rear springs were installed about 10 years ago. The rest of the chassis and frame appear to be largely original with basic updates over time. The frame looks to be very solid with only one area noted to need repair. This area is at the rear passenger bend just ahead of the axle. it has a area that needs patched/repaired about 4” x 4”. It is unknown why this single area has suffered.

The body appears to be very sound and original. We have found no signs of any sort of major wreck or damage repair. The paint is quite thin and appears to be the original application. The hood has several chips about the size of a dime. There are other areas around the body that have scratches. chips or flakes. but no cracks in the fiberglass have been noted.

We have not dusted or cleaned the body in any way in an effort to retain the just-found appearance. Halogen headlamps were installed within the past decade or so. The front bumpers have been removed and are no longer with the car for reasons unknown. Reproductions are available online. All other exterior trim and emblems are in place and overall reflect the age and condition of this non-restored car. The driver front fender trim has the most damage of any of these and could possibly be straightened by a professional. All four spinner wheel covers are in place. with typical dings and scrapes expected on a non-restored 50-year old car.

The accessory hard top is in very good shape overall. The top's stainless is presentable and serviceable. The rear wind screen has a crack on the lower passenger corner and the side glass shows age as well. The headliner is practically like new without any obvious issues and the chrome windshield fasteners are also very good.

Nothing appears to have been changed or updated in the interior area. It has all of the original red upholstery and will need new seat foam and covers due to age and a loose seam on the driver's side. The carpet is worn to threads and not salvageable. Options in this area include an AM Wonderbar radio and RARE power windows. The folding soft top material looks to be an older quality replacement unit that could possibly be carefully restored and put into use with time and knowledge of these materials. The top frame is currently unbolted from the car. but the hardware appears to be in place.

To our knowledge. the only “missing” items from the car are the front bumpers and the two stainless trim pieces alongside the glove box. This car is being sold as-is and where-is without warranty. It is an antique vehicle in need of a full restoration or partial preservation. Please ask all questions before bidding. Serious Inquiries ONLY. please. 260 area code 750-4718.

Successful winning bidder will be required to submit a $500 deposit within 24 hours and the remaining funds should arrive via US currency. Cashier's Check or Direct Deposit Wire Transfer. Check will be held to clear before title is supplied. This car has a clear Indiana title.
