1964 Cadillac Deville Convertible

Less than 14K original miles

Stunning Amazing Survivor

Turnkey Show Car

·         Original Paint

·         Original Top

·         Original interior

This is. quite possibly. the lowest mileage all original 1964 Cadillac Convertible in existence.   I have been involved in collecting these cars for roughly 35 years. and have owned this car for almost 10.   This. hands down. is the best surviving example I have ever seen.   Finished in the highly desirable ebony lacquer. this car amazingly looks much like it did when it was sold new at Brogan Cadillac in Ridgewood NJ.

This is a remarkable original survivor car. which. aside from some minor detailing. remains as produced by GM. Still wearing its factory paint. top. interior. and carpets.   Even the original Silvertown spare tire which has never seen use sits in the trunk. sporting its factory tread stamping and rubber molding extrusions.   In all appearances. this car looks nearly new. and while it does show some minor sighs of patina and gentle use. can hold its own with newly restored cars.

This Deville starts up with the turn of a key. and runs and drives beautifully.   The Aztec grain leather interior is gorgeous. and the ebony lacquer paint is still glossy and mirror-like.   This car absolutely glows. and turns heads everywhere.  The body of the car is arrow straight. and completely collision and rust free.

Look around this car and observe the details:  The windows fly up and down with the touch of a button. …controls respond with the authoritative click of a new car…. the top bows retain their lustrous satin factory finish. and all factory zinc plated bolts and bits are as they should be.   Even the clock works.

Interestingly enough. while some cars boast of their options. this example is quite unusual in that the only options ordered on this car were positraction and AM radio.   I have never seen a Deville with fore and aft seat adjustments only and a clear. non-tinted windshield. but that is how this was delivered.

Other points of note include:

·         Engine compartment detailed with correct coded GM hoses and tower clamps

·         Factory convertible top boot

·         Original top in excellent condition with date coded back window and front bow headliner intact

·         Factory chalk marks still present

·         Factory computer routing card still in place under the carpet

·         Paper straps used to hold the frame mounts to the frame while the body was lowered on the frame are still present

·         Factory frame stencil bright and clear

·         Aluminum anodizing in grille still retains its factory grained finish.

This car is a shoe-in trophy winner. and while it has only been entered in two shows. took trophies at both. one of which was an AACA regional judged event.   Clearly. it would be a formidable competitor in preservation class.

This car is reputed to have been owned by Lou Panella of the NY Yankees at one time. and clearly has always been stored and maintained as a collectable.   The car came to my attention about 17 years ago when it was offered for sale with 7500 miles on it.   At that time. another party purchased the car. did some engine compartment detailing and other work to make it tour-worthy. and drove it a fair number of miles.   When I acquired the car. it had about 12K miles on the clock. and I have added only a hundred or so per year during the course of my ownership.
