Ford : Mustang Base

I have always wanted a vintage Mustang and have looked for years.   I had the extra money and was looking and found this one.   I was just drawn to it.   I went and looked at it and couldn't help but buy it.   No keep in mind I have never owned a vintage muscle car before.   I am very happy with the car and really like looking at it.   However. it doesn't have power brakes and power steering.   Things like that which I am really used too.   I don't like not having shoulder belts either.   It really bothers me.  I never thought it would.   So that is the story why I am posting it for sale.  

 

Please don't use the buy it now or make an offer if you don't have the money.   I can appreciate the fact that you want the car but if you don't have the money it makes it difficult for me.   So please only make an offer or use the buy it now if you have the funds and will follow through.   Thanks.  

 

Below is everything I know about the car and will try to describe it the best I can.   I am not a Mustang expert and won't claim to be.   I just thought it was a really cool car and wanted it.  

 

The VIN is 6F07T294446.

First it has a V8 in it.   I believe it is a 302.   It runs perfectly.   It starts right up hot or cold.   Runs very smooth and has plenty of power.   It doesn't leak any oil.   My garage floor is clean.   Not one drop.   It has various chrome accents and things like that on the engine.   The carb was rebuilt recently and works great.   It has a new alternator and regulator.   Previous owner did all of this work.  

It has new front shocks and springs.  

I had all 4 windows repaired so they would all work.   All 4 work great now.   One of them had the regulator replaced and various other parts.   All work great even the back ones.   It has all drum brakes which I don't like.   It stops good if you put your foot into it.   Pedal is high and doesn't drop at all.   It just takes effort. I don't like that part of it at all.   Where I live is very hilly and it is fine.   Stops no problem but I think power brakes would make a huge difference.

Exhaust looks great to me and sounds wonderful.   It makes all the right noises.   It is one of the best sounding muscle cars I think.   Very throaty.  

All the gauges work and the locks work too.  

Transmission works great.   It is an automatic.   I am quite sure this car was originally equipped with a standard transmission so the transmission isn't original to the car.   Works great though.   No leaks or problems with it.  

 

Now this part is wonderful.   It has working Air Conditioning!!!!!  That was one of the main features I loved.   It works!!!! It is really cold too.  

Driving down the road it does great. Steering is good and it never pulls either way.   Not even when braking.   Never smokes or does anything out of the ordinary.   Starts right up hot or cold.   Shifts great.   Stops great for not having power brakes and drums.   The previous owner put in a new heater core he told me too.   I had all of the drum brakes adjusted too so they spin freely and the shoes all have plenty of life on them.   No leaks at all either.  

 

Tires are good.   Fronts have about 30-40% left and the rears 50%.   I took pics of the treads of each tire.   They are below.   Just click on the link.   The previous owner said it has a 5 lug rear end.   The front tires are 4 lug and the rear are 5 lugs.   Not sure what this does for the car but it has that also.  

Comes with the spare too.   Tire is good on the spare.  

 

Interior is in excellent condition.   I love it.   Headliner is great. seats are in excellent condition.   Dash top is like new.   Everything looks really good to me.   Window cranks have pitting on them but nothing terrible.   Horn doesn't work.   I have no idea what is wrong but the little plastic piece behind the steering wheel needs to be replaced.   I took off the steering wheel horn button by turning it and I broke one of the little feet that holds it to the steering wheel.   It looks like a cheap plastic part.   It attaches to the horn piece not the steering wheel.   All headlights work. brights work. turn signals work and brake lights all work.   So that is huge.   Many I looked at none of these worked.  

 

The exterior paint shows well.   It is a recent repaint.   I don't know how old the paint is but it looks great.   Shines great.    All glass is good.   No breaks or cracks.   It had a rust fixed before they painted it but you can still see where it was.   I took many pics of it.   Looks like little bumps.   They are rock hard though.   You can push a key or your finger on them and they don't give at all.   If you need more pics just let me know.  

 

I am going to take pics underneath too so everyone can see underneath.   It does have rust in areas but I don't know much about rust so I will take as many pics as required to show everything underneath the car.  

 

I bought this car to drive.   I think it is a driver not a show car so please keep that in mind.   I bought it to have fun with but without all the power features it is not for me.   I love the power. the feel. just driving it but I don't like the lack of power brakes. 3 point belts. things like that.   Everyone who sees this car loves it.   I have had a ton of compliments on this vehicle.

I have a clear title with no lien.   Buyer agrees to pay for this vehicle in Full before it and the title will be released.
