Chrysler : Newport Town & Country

Beautiful 1962 9 Passenger Chrysler Newport Town & Country Wagon. California Black Plate car from Newport Beach. Believed to be a 3 owner car. I bought this out of a collector from New Hampshire. The car is equipped with the rare AC and Roof Rack. This car is one of 2. 63 9 passenger cars built in 1962. When new the car sold for $ 3. 78 base with options added. The car weighed in at 4090lbs and were 216. 4 inches long overall. The car retains its original 361 cubic inch motor which was rebuilt by the previous owner with less than 1500 miles on it. It has a Chrysler Factory 4 barrel intake with Holly 600 CFM carb. The car shows 67450 miles which I believe is correct as to the condition of the car and interior. The interior with the exception of the carpet is original and almost perfect. The door panels are in very good condition as are the seats which I would say are in excellent condition. The dash is perfect with no cracks or discoloration. Please see the pictures and the video.  The list of work done is as follows:Rebuilt engine. Original Trans just rebuilt including torque converter. New wheel bearings. New Brakes including shoes. cylinders and hoses. New Shocks. New exhaust. New American Classic Wide White Wall radial tires including spare.  Correct Newport Hub Caps. Underside of car painted and detailed. New Front End Alignment. New Carpet. All lights. nbsp;dash lights. work. AC works but needs to be converted. All gauges work including fuel gauge with new sender. Radio does not work and will need to be rebuilt. Rear window works very well. Switch at dash and key at tailgate all function.  Switch at rear window inside does not. Again the interior is immaculate. The headliner is good with a few dings. Glass is very good as is weather stripping. Rear side window weather stripping is perfect. Try finding replacements for this!3rd seat is perfect. The seat from the factory comes in vinyl. Floors are perfect with no rust. The floor under the rear seat has been replaced previously.  The exterior of the car is very nice. I would call the paint a 5 footer. I had the car wet sanded and buffed out which helped immensely . The car has been previously repainted and while nice far from perfect but very presentable. You are not going to win the Pebble Beach Car show!There is a small dent in the passenger side front door. You can see it on the video. Chrome is again ok.  There is some faded spots and some pitting on various pieces but still very presentable and original.  All lenses are good and functional.  Roof rack is all there and while shows some pitting still very very nice and very rare. It is funny that there were 2 of these cars on Ebay recently. None as equipped nor as original as this car. Still nice to see some. I doubt there are more than a dozen left out of the original 2363 built.  Chrysler Station wagons of this era 1960 through 64 are very rare and collectable.
