1968 Porsche 911S Soft window Targa Sportomatic Very rare! Needs restoration for sale

1968 Porsche 911 S targa soft window sportomatic. White with black interior. Chassis number 11850136 engine number 4180007 which are correct and matching verified by the Certificate of Authenticity from Porsche (a copy of which is one of the photos in this listing). The COA also lists the original color code as being 6804 Which is Light Ivory with black interior and options were:Webasto heater # 028306. ski racks with 8 ski straps. sportmatic transmission. Phoenix tires 165x15s. Porsche said the car was probably delivered new to Austria or Germany. Metal work in the (new)floors and structural work has been done on the car.

As per my redbook they only made 442 "S" Targa cars in 1968. the number of 911 "S" model with the Sportomatic transmission is thought to be far less than that. maybe under 30 which makes this option combination very rare. if you have a Porsche collection this would be a great car to have since it is not likely you are not going to see another one.   This car is very very rare! Car needs total restoration. Photos show the condition. I have a page with 188 very detailed photos go to forzamotorsports with the usual com ending.
