The Lacia Delta was introduced to the UK in 1980. In an attempt
to join the 1980s hot hatch club. Lancia updated its stylish Delta
with a turbocharged version incorporating the classic Fiat twin-cam
engine under the bonnet. Performance was predictably rapid and the
HF Turbo model was brought to the UK in 1984. Initially designated
Delta MT16 (standing for Martini Turbo). the first models featured
white livery with Martini racing stripes.

This car is one of only a few rare survivors of the original
Lancia press fleet of 20 cars which were brought over for
evaluation by the British motoring press and was also used by the
Porsche Martini Race Team. This car still has its original
Lancia 'Press Fleet' registration plates and this is also verified
by the chassis number. In 1994. the car underwent a complete
bare metal restoration and since then has lived a pampered life in
dry storage. emerging only to attend events such as Lancia Club
meetings and concourse events. The mileage of only 80. 00 miles
from new is correct and confirmed by the previous MoT's and
maintenance history. Supplied with the car is the original driver's
handbook. the Press Release Pack and the workshop manual.
There are also some interesting articles from sources like the
contemporary motoring magazine road test reports and publicity
material. There is a thorough work and service history highlighting
all of the work it has ever had done from about 1987 onwards.
A service was carried out and a new cam belt and rollers were
fitted just a few miles ago. This Lanica is finished in the Martini
colours and is supplied with a V5C registration document and a MoT
test certificate which expires in March 2015.
