This is a stunning example of the rare and desirable 1936 Ford Cabriolet with rumble seat.   This car received the prestigious Dearborn Award from the Early Ford V8 Club in 2010 for the quality of its restoration and original correctness. In fact it received 964 points out of 1000.

The car was painstakingly restored to near 100% original condition in correct gun metal grey paint with the correct leather upholstery.   It is an all-steel body with no fiberglass body parts or fenders; all of the doors and hood parts fit and close as they should.   Floors are the solid originals.

The drive train is mechanically excellent – the engine. gears. controls and clutch all operate smoothly.

This car is equipped with a rebuilt period correct 85hp Ford flathead V8 bored . 060. new babbitt. rings. pistons and rods. A rough calculation gives it 230 cubic inches.

The transmission is the standard 3 speed. No unusual noises and it stays in gear.

All instruments work including the gas gauge. It is notable that the car is equipped with the proper working open car wiper motor. There are keys for all locks including the gas cap and tire cover.

This car has hydraulic brakes adapted from a later model V8. . a 1937 steering box and  a Ford script on the gas cap the only three deviations noted on the Early Ford V8 judging standards sheet. Since that judging. the car has been equipped with dual exhausts.

This car has been driven 8. 00 miles since restoration so we can say that this car has been debugged and is ready for show and go (never buy a fresh restoration that hasn't been “debugged”).

The car is owned by my friend Dick and he or I are available to quickly answer any questions.   Don't ask for the reserve so we don't have to say no. Dick's number is 303-945-5111.
