The original owner of this 924 purchased it new on November 25th. 1977 from Cambelback Porsche Audi in Phoenix. AZ.   Less than two years later. he moved his family to Southern California and of course the Porsche came with him.   For the next 26-years. he absolutely pampered this car.   Nothing was too good for it.   He became very active in his local PCA Zone and held several board positions including president.   In fact. he was PCA president for 4 terms.   He was a strong competitor in the PCA Concours scene and won over 30 awards.   Unfortunately. he passed away in 2006.   His wife continued to show the car at the concours events and maintain it.   She is finding that she uses it less and less these days and that the 924 would be better enjoyed with a new owner.

 

The owner of this 924 was a total car enthusiast and loved to do tasteful upgrades to his car over the years.   He never did anything that was irreversible since he still loved to compete in the concours events.   Over the years he enjoyed giving the car his custom touches.   Some of these included:

 

Bilstein sport shocks

NACA duct on headlight (for direct cold air to the engine)

Bolt in roll bar with fire extinguisher

Chromed forged alloy (phone dial) wheels including spare

Front and rear spoilers

Rear reflector panel with “924” designation

Porsche 944 style rear valence

Aluminum insignia door sills

Strut tower bar

 

Recently. the owner’s wife decided to get the car up to snuff and invested another $3. 00.   The following items were addressed:

 

New timing belt and rollers

Brake system flush

Drain and flush cooling system

Oil service

New fuel pump. seals and accumulator

New tires

Replace muffler and tail pipe

Repair sunroof hinges

New water pump belt

 

It looks like this car was nicely optioned from the factory with the following:

 

Removable sunroof

Alloy wheels 15x6

4-wheel disc brakes

 

As you can imagine. this Porsche is in immaculate condition.   The paint is all original and verified with a paint meter.   Since a car bra was used on long drives. the paint is near perfect with little to no signs of road debris.   The tires are new and the brakes look near new as well.   The interior is equally as nice and ready for the concours lawn.   The original seats show very  little wear.   The dash has a very nice cover on it and looks original.   Supposedly. the dash underneath is in good condition and simply protected by the cover.   The original carpet and door panels also look fantastic.

 

California registration is paid through November 2014.

 

This 924 comes with original owner’s manuals. original spare. tools. removable hardtop cover. cargo net. and extra keys.
