1971 Ford Torino Cobra GT Tribute

Here is a really nice car that's very streetable. yet ready to drag race at a moments notice. Designed to replicate the Ford 'works' Nascar racers from 1970. this car might actually be better suited to bracket drag racing. HOWEVER. with it's 3. 25 Ford TRACTION-LOk (limited slip) 9" rear. it's a VERY STREETABLE car that's also a real pleasure to drive. even on the high speed interstates. In fact I would go so far as to call it a daily driver if you wanted it to be.

Currently needs no work at all and can be driven all day and enjoyed right now. Please use Ebay's PHOTO ZOOM FEATURE and look carefully as this is indeed a vintage car and is NOT perfect. Please don't expect a 100 point show car because you'll be disappointed if you do. But. it's also not priced at their $40-$50K either. so this is a really affordable car that you can drive and enjoy immediately.

Engine runs extremely strong and car tracks down the road very nicely with excellent suspension. Power front disc brakes stop the car easily. Engine starts easy even when cold. and will just sit and idle all day long at 180-190 degrees. even in our brutal AZ heat. Has dual electric radiator fans (switchable on or off from dash--leave them off in cold weather) working with a newly re-cored original radiator and a high flow water pump.  These parts combined together make this engine run really cool. In fact it's easily the coolest running big block car I've EVER had. and I've had a bunch.  The built 460 has an 850 Holley double pumper. with port-flowed heads. big cam. and headers flowing to dual exhaust that dump under rear of car. It is NOT loud. in fact it's almost quiet; enough so as to drive through your neighborhood with no concern. This is an 11 second car that can be driven every day. Since I did not rebuild this engine myself. I DO NOT HAVE ANY PARTICULARS on the internal components of this 460 build. but I was assured it was all very expensive bits designed to last a long time and produce lots of horsepower.

Traction bar rear suspension. Hurst quick shifter. 3 speed C6 transmission heavily beefed up with 1500 stall converter and high performance shift kit. Has high torque starter with heavy duty alternator. aftermarket electronic distributor with externally variable timing advance. electric fuel pump (switchable from dash). relocated oil filters for easy servicing with all stainless braided lines. and added engine oil & transmission coolers. New battery has been relocated to trunk for weight distribution. and NHRA approved safety on/off switch is currently located inside of trunk but can easily be relocated to it's external position at right rear of car when racing.

Has brand new 8"x15" AERO real bead lock NASCAR wheels (black chrome---really beautiful). Mickey Thompson street legal racing tires in rear. a very rare MOPAR high speed oval track adjustable rear wing. all original black vinyl interior & headliner in excellent shape. Correct Torino Cobra SHAKER HOOD SCOOP sitting on top of an aluminum high rise intake manifold. This is the correct Torino version and not the more common Cobra Jet Mustang shaker unit (which a lot of guys inaccurately use on their Torino Cobras & Mercury Cyclones). Dash is NOT cracked. all gauges work including auxilary units under dash. All external stickers can be easily removed with heat gun if so desired. but I would not remove those Holman Moody stickers on the front fenders because they are extremely rare and (in my opinion) look great.

Painted in Grabber Orange with black accents. nbsp;this is a nice car with that great vintage nascar look. Only issues I can find are a slight exhaust leak at left side of headers. and some very minor bubbling and chipping of paint at a few places here and there. The paint on roof has a few small cracks in it as well. Please look at photos carefully as I've tried to show all issues in paint I can find but they are minor and don't show up in photos very well. It's a 3 footer car. for sure--meaning that it looks great until you get right up on it. and then you can see this little thing or that.  

With all these race pieces you might get the impression it's a better track car than a driver. but that's not the case. With the relatively high gears and the way this engine runs so cool. you really can drive it every day and enjoy it immensely just like I have. If it weren't for the fact that I need money to complete a construction project I'm working on I would definitely keep her. This is a good one guys; buy it and enjoy it. It's not a trailer queen. but it's pretty enough to place at any muscle car show you enter.

AZ. All shipping costs are the responsibility of buyer but I can help arrange shipping for you if needed. Pick up is preferred.

SHIPPING: INTERNATIONAL--This car DOES have a TITLE so getting out of USA and into your country will be relatively EASY. All shipping costs are the responsibility of buyer but I can help arrange for you if needed. Cost to get truck to your freight forwarder anywhere in Los Angeles would be $500. 00. Cost to get car to your freight forwarder on east coast USA will be $1000. 00 but these are just guesstimates and final prices determined are between you and the shipper. --Pickup is preferred.
