We're selling our much-loved Scarlet Lady. bought for my wife as a special birthday present. eight years and 6. 00 miles ago. because sadly. we can no longer exit gracefully.

We have both thoroughly enjoyed driving her in the summer months and she has wintered in the garage under a protective cover.

The car drives beautifully; the engine is very powerful and smooth. there are no undue noises to worry about and all the electrics work without fault. In the summer of 2007 we took the SL on a 3. 00 mile trip through France and Spain down to the Mediterranean and she performed beautifully; not one problem.

The car was imported from Jersey* just before I bought it in January 2005 and had only one previous owner for eighteen years. (other than the dealer from whom I bought it) and has been garaged from new. The paintwork is therefore in excellent condition. as is the integrity of the bodywork. The wheel arches. wings. valances and any other likely areas are all rust free. [*It was re-registered here in July 2004. but we have the original Jersey number plates].

It was serviced regularly by a Mercedes main dealer and such is recorded and stamped in the service book. Mercedes fitted a new black soft-top during that time and so the plastic windows in the hood have no yellowing or cracking whatsoever. The hardtop is flawless; not a mark on the paintwork. or the headliner.

The interior is cream with cream vinyl and light tan dog-tooth detail and has factory fitted rear seats. The upholstery is very clean and tidy. There are very few of the usual marks on the paintwork plus some paint chips around the hole for the hard/soft top retaining peg that are covered by the hood and hardtop. (photo 7) and a small damage on the passenger door. (photo 8). All have been touched-in as soon as noticed and other than these tiny blemishes. the paintwork is excellent for a twenty seven year old motorcar.
