Excellent opportunity to purchase a fast appreciating classic. a stunning E9 CSL.

Personally. I think the CSL is the best looking of the classic BMW range. The attention this car gets when you are out and about is hard to imagine. everybody seems to love it.

The CSL was effectively the start of the BMW M division. This car was produced in very limited numbers to enable BMW to compete very effectively in various racing series in the early 70's. The 'L' in CSL stands for Lightweight. Aluminum was used for the bonnet. boot lid and doors. along with no soundproofing and other measures designed to save weight. The result is a car that feel much more driver focused. this is a very nimble car. the power steering is weighted just right. The noise and driving experience returned from this car is hard to beat. The engine makes a noise modern cars would never be able to re-produce. its excellent. very addictive. The gearbox feels nice and close. gears are found with ease. I note this car has had a clutch fairly recently. This is not a tricky classic to run and drive. the fuel injected 3004 cc engine (had to be over 3. 0 to enable it to compete in certain race programs). starts and runs without fuss.

This car is ready to enjoy now. a very usable car thats has had all the hard work done. It comes with a full set of pictures showing a full restoration. the last of this was performed in 2004. The fact that is car is still in outstanding condition today shows the quality of this work. The paintwork and bodywork are excellent. The paintwork has a lovely deep shine and I think White is the perfect colour for this car. especially with the BMW Msport stripes featured on this example. The chrome work is also in excellent condition. as are the recently refurbished Alpina alloys. all recently fitted with new tyres. Look under the bonnet. inside the boot. its all just as good.

The interior on this car has been clearly looked after from new. The lovely leather bucket seats are in excellent condition. no rips or tears. extremely comfortable and supportive. This car does also feature two rear seats. perfect for kids or maybe the odd emergency trip for adults. Looking around this interior. is just as good wherever you look. The Black deep pile carpets look and feel great. the wood trim and dash and dials. headlining are all in excellent condition.

This car comes with a large folder full of history. containing many service receipts. old MOT's. Original service book and manuals. Very rare BMW workshop manuals. lots of magazine articles. along with a full set of pictures covering the restoration. The history of this car shows that is spent most of its early life around London. covering low mileage up until the late 90's. Then there was a period of 2-3 years where the car seems to have been in daily use. covering around 30. 00 miles. whilst being maintained by BMW main dealers and then a restoration by well known Classic BMW specialists. Finally its was purchased by a collector from Ireland. who continued the good work. renewing the suspension. clutch . brakes etc.

Now the car is back with me in the UK. ready for the next luck owner. who i'm sure will cherish it like the rest.  

Its just gone through a new MOT so is ready to be enjoyed now !
