SELLER REMARKS

In the late 1970s. Pontiac was one of the few domestic automakers who remembered how to make horsepower. This highly optioned 1979 Trans Am. for example. is powered by a 403 cubic inch V8 that makes a respectable 185 horsepower. It's also rather rare given that it isn't gold. black. or silver and showing up in this one means proudly letting everyone know you're a big fan of the 1970s.


The color is called Nocturne Blue. and it is both gorgeous and rather unusual for 1979 Trans Ams. and this handsome example is in great condition throughout. showing careful ownership and excellent care throughout its life. However. unlike many of its siblings. this one has pretty good color matching throughout. proving that it's been well maintained and kept out of the sun. but the soft shine suggests vintage paint. These cars were also heavy on the decals and pinstripes. of course. and they remain in excellent condition with very little fading and excellent adhesion. The blacked-out grilles and color-matched headlight buckets are in excellent condition. and the cool Trans Am taillights are still bright and clear.


The only way Trans Ams came in 1979 was loaded. and that included a luxuriously appointed interior. The blue fabric seats in this car remain in good condition with wear appropriate to a car with half as many years on it-they're excellent. There are a few creases here and there on the driver's seat. but the passenger's seat is amazingly well preserved and the back seat looks like new. The dash features a cool engine-turned panel that houses a full array of functional gauges as well as a later AM/FM/cassette radio that powers a set of speakers fitted to the door panels. The dash pad. console. door panels and even the headliner are all in very good shape. This car comes equipped with factory A/C and you'll notice that this is an authentic power window car. with those round. black Firebird emblems on the doors installed to hide the holes where the window cranks would ordinarily live.


The Oldsmobile-built 403 cubic inch V8 makes great muscle car sounds and still moves the car with genuine authority. Sure. it's a little scruffy under the hood. but there are no major issues and a weekend of detailing would pay big dividends. If you're interested in driving. on the other hand. you'll be happy to know that it starts quickly and drives beautifully. The snorkel feeding the air cleaner (which only looks like a hood scoop. but is non-functional) is in excellent condition. and many of the original components are still intact. Routine maintenance items have obviously been conscientiously replaced during the last 34 years. but overall this is a highly original and nicely preserved engine bay. The chassis is more of the same. with signs of proper maintenance and good care in a warm. dry climate. The wheels are period Keystones with gold inserts to match the decals and wear fat 245/60/15 Goodyear radials. with the original "snowflake" alloys included with the car.


If you're a smart buyer. you've undoubtedly already noticed that these cars are red hot right now. and this one comes with a ton of receipts and other documentation. Forget what you remember about the '70s and enjoy the reality-these are awesome cars that are simply a blast to drive. Call now!

TERMS OF SALE  

1. Per the eBay User Agreement. by placing a bid you are entering into a legally binding contract and are committed to purchasing the vehicle described above. The details of this commitment are further outlined in the eBay User Agreement.

2. Vehicle may be sold by Streetside Classic Cars prior to the end of the auction. Streetside Classic Cars reserves the right to end its auctions early or to cancel bids solely at its discretion and shall not be held liable for any such cancellation.

3. The winning bidder is required to contact Streetside Classic Cars within 24 hours after the close of the auction to finalize the details of the transaction.

4. A $1. 00 non-refundable deposit is required within 48 hours of the auction's close.   This deposit reserves the vehicle and removes it from the market. Acceptable payment types for deposit are: credit card. wire transfer. cashier's check. and money order.

5. If winning bidder does not contact Streetside Classic Cars and submit deposit within 48 hours of auction close. vehicle may be made available to the next highest bidder or another qualified buyer on a first come. first serve basis.

6. Streetside Classic Cars has represented this vehicle to the best of its ability. Prospective bidders are encouraged to contact us directly to provide additional information or answer any questions.

7. Please be aware that all pre-owned vehicles. regardless of age. mileage. or manufacturer are subject to cosmetic wear and mechanical failure. Streetside Classic Cars encourages bidder to have a personal inspection completed prior to delivery to help ensure your satisfaction. Third party inspections are to take place prior to a vehicles shipment or delivery.

8. All vehicles are sold "AS IS" and with no warranties expressed or implied.

9. Final or winning bid price does not include shipping. tax. title. or registration fees. It is the purchaser's responsibility to provide for any state or local taxes and shipping expenses resulting from the sale.

10. We can assist you in delivery through our network of private and commercial carriers. Most of them can deliver the vehicle to your driveway. We assume no responsibility for damages or delays incurred once a vehicle is in a shipper's custody.

11. Streetside Classic Cars bears no liability and shall be held harmless for any complications. expenses. or damages resulting from a failure to meet these terms as they have been set forth and established herein.

12. An additional documentation fee of $199 will be added to the purchase price at the time of sale.
