Current customer rating: (234 votes ) based onThe woman who bought purchased from the original owner didn't like the diesel noise and parked it and has sat since 2009. I can't find a bit of rust on this car. I don't believe the spare tire has ever been taken out. The first aid kit doesn't appear to have ever been opened. complete with the item list.
What I've done. changed all fluids and filters several times. Drained the fuel tank. cleaned the tank servo. changed the break fluid. changed the differential fluid. new door strikers. new door seals all 4 doors. of course the heater servo was bad. I switched to Unwired Tools electronic unit and it works perfectly. I have the original temp amplifier if wanted. New battery. modern glow plug conversion. flushed and charged A/C with R12. Checked all vacuum lines. NO Leaks! Most everything works perfectly. The cruise control works but the plastic grommet is broken. I rigged something to check the amplifier and it appears to work fine. I took the seats out to check the floor pans when I did I discovered the horse hair on the back seat was disintegrating. so I replaced with modern materials. There was a sag in the drivers seat thinking the springs were broken. I purchased a repair kit. after taking the seat out there were no spring breaks the bottom seat cushion needs bolstering (eventually). I've driven this car several hundred miles to insure there were no major issues. as mentioned I have changed the oil 2x and fuel filters several times. Fuel sending unit. after cleaning the tank and unit appears to be working well. i replaced 2 seat adjustment handles that I broke with steel handles. Also I have ordered an A/C idler pulley which will be replaced prior to sale.
What I have. 2 additional hub caps. I think they're new. light bulb kit and cluster removal tools. ( I have not removed the cluster). I intended on replacing the bulbs and fix the usual dim lighting. I didn't want anyone to think the miles have been altered. I also have a few extra new door strikers a mostly complete bulb kit and seat repair kit all from Mercedes Source. I'm sure there's more all will go with the car. I have the original buyers order. application for title. predelivery inspection report. service stamps. books. and a copy of the second owners title. The car was purchased in Gainesville Florida on 12/19/1978 for $20235
This car runs and drives beautifully. it starts cold in 10 seconds. The car does 0 to 60 In about 3 minutes (exaggeration). not a car I'm used to driving. but I have 6 others cars right now and if I keep it I'll drive it. Someone needs this for their collection. The car will have a few more miles on it as I plan 1 more filter change. I think I have replaced / repaired all the nuisance issue with this model. the car has fairly new set of Michelin's and the original Dunlap spare in the truck.
Title in hand. will send more pics on request. I have pics of the floorboards and the trunk compartment
