SELLER REMARKS

Mustangs come in every conceivable configuration. and have since 1964. Need world-beating performance? Check for Shelby badges on the fenders. Need a cool cruiser with power? Check the box marked "GT. " Want an awesome coupe that screams nostalgia with as much gusto as a truckload of apple pies? No problem. just nab the car shown here.

Mustangs in general look great in almost any color. While this pony was born white. you can't fault the change to its current. period-correct bright blue. The paint was done just last year and has a ton of gloss. Panel gaps are on par with factory. and the bodywork was done to a high standard. Reproduction trim pieces for Mustangs abound. and the restorer wisely chose to replace everything they could get their hands on. Lights and lenses are likewise new. and the tinted glass is clean. The white vinyl top does a great job of setting off the blue paint. as do the classic wire wheel hubcaps. Twin chrome exhaust tips poke out from below the bumper-this is a true 289 2-barrel car and the addition of dual exhaust never hurts the looks. sound. or performance.

Inside. you're greeted by a really cool two tone blue interior. New covers are on the seats. new panels are on the doors and new carpeting is on the floor. Seat belts are at every seating position as the Mustang was the first car in the United States to come fully equipped with them as standard. More new bright parts are in here from the armrests to the window cranks to the dash bezel. The shifter is on the floor while accessory A/C hangs below the dash and is powered by modern R134a refrigerant inside. A Custom Autosound AM/FM/cassette deck is in the factory hole and the little console between the seats with twin cup holders is a lot handier than you'd think. First generation Mustangs are great cars to drive around and their interior appointments are a big part of the experience. There's also a nicely finished trunk with correct mats and a cover for the full-sized spare tire.

Under the hood is a rebuilt 289. looking sharp and running great. The 2-barrel cars came with a big. ugly air cleaner. so the chrome unit is a bunch sportier. Ford Motorsport cast aluminum valve covers replace the boring originals. The 2-barrel 289's didn't scare anyone on the spec sheet alone. but early pony cars are so light that the 200 horsepower engine is more than adequate. especially enhanced by the dual exhaust and a nice. flat torque curve. The big. rebuilt A/C compressor is up front. and the system was converted to R134a so it's easy to service. Satin black paint in the engine compartment is proper for Fords of this vintage. and it provides a nice contrast to the Ford Blue engine. The tin worm is the Mustang's worst enemy. but a quick view of this chassis shows that the floors and frame rails are covered in undercoating which keep everything protected Power is routed back from the 289 to a C4 three speed automatic and on to the original 8-inch rear axle. Drum brakes are more than adequate. again thanks to the car's light weight. and they're dead simple so service is easy. New 195/75/14 whitewall tires are at the corners for a great ride and to finish off the exterior.

If you're in need of a major shot of Americana. look no further than this Mustang. Pick up the phone and call today!
