New LOWER price!  Tons of NEW parts. resto-mod. non-GT Mustang Coupe.   We are moving and Must sell. make me an offer!  I will try to list everything I can remember.

Story: My mother got this car brand new for a graduation gift. It has been in the family ever since. ONE OWNER. non smoking family. It was originally an automatic transmission with a 289 V-8. My dad taught at the local high school and the shop teacher had a working demo 302 motor from Ford. He didn't use it much anymore so he offered to put it in the mustang. He put in a Toploader 4-speed as well. My dad used it for daily driving for 30 years. My parents took it to Mexico one time and drove all over. It has had a wonderful life. My mother gave it to me and my family when I got married 13 years ago. It has become impractical for our family and we wish it to go to a home that will love it as much as we have. Before I went to college. we had the paint job done. We welded up holes that had rusted out including floorboards and gave it a less dull turquoise paint job with a nice clear coat. It drove me to my first year at the University and sat in the garage covered up after I got married shortly after. I decided to rebuild a 302 for fun. It took years and I didn't do a very good job. I took the 302. that my dad put in from school. out and put in my rebuild. It wasn't running very well so I took it to Premier Perfomance. Long story short. they said the motor was not good so we bought a fresh brand new 302 long block with aluminum heads with a 36 month/36. 00 mile warranty. Now she runs like a watch without a hitch and very reliable probably more so than any modern car. The body has two to three hundred thousand miles on it. the engine and drivetrain have barely 50 miles on them.

Body/exterior: paint job in 1996 welding up rust issues all around. Minor dings in the front ? panel and a scratch on the hood from carelessly putting some boxes on her covered up body. Otherwise very clean looking and it won't disappoint. New power steering ram and hoses. Interior: All remains original except the carpet and the seats. They were redone at the time of the paint job. The dash is a bit cracked up so we have the blue cover on it. The steering wheel. dash. panels. and head liner is all original. The head liner has two small tears in it. but otherwise is original and fine. Everything is just a little faded that dull turquoise it looked like from the factory. I have the rear seat belts. just not installed.

Engine/drivetrain: New 300 bhp 302 V-8 motor with aluminum heads. Flowtech Longtube headers. full 2 ?" exhaust without catalytic converters and turbo mufflers. highly sought after and bulletproof Toploader 4-speed transmission in perfect working order. Hurst Competition Plus shifter. new clutch/pressure plate/throw out bearing. stock driveline with new high-end bearings. stock 8" open rear end with 2. 80 ratio. A high volume larger radiator for those hot days so the needle stays below half all the time. New temperature and oil sending units. New MSD ignition coil. distributor. and 8mm wires. New battery.

Brakes/wheels: Newly rebuilt rear drum brake parts. new brake lines front and rear. new front disc brakes. new non-power brake booster with adjuster. New 16" deep dish Vintage 45 wheels. P205/55r16 tires with 90% tread left.

Air/fuel delivery: Edelbrock performer intake manifold. Edelbrock 600 cfm 4bbl carb with electric choke. new fuel tank. new fuel pump. new fuel level sending unit. new fuel lines.

Suspension: Front and rear sway bars. subframe connectors. gas-adjust shocks. new 5-leaf springs in the rear. new 600 lb rate lowering springs in the front. new control arm shafts. fresh alignment. under the hood a monte carlo bar and cross brace. She corners better than most fancy sports cars. A nice ride. not too stiff. Original parts available: I still have the A/C pump and A/C unit that sits inside the cabin. as shown in the pictures. just not installed. I also still have the original 14" hubcaps with spinners.

Aftermarket stereo: Just before college. I got sick of the AM radio and added FM modulator and the one 4x10 speaker in the dash. I decided to add a modern stereo system and the goal was to make it practical and completely hidden. I put the CD/Receiver in the glove box and it has a wireless remote so you don't have to reach across the car to turn the channel or change the volume. etc. I put two 6. 5" speakers in the kick panels. a common part upgrade you can get from any classic Mustang parts website. two 4-way 6x9 speakers and two 8" subwoofers behind the rear seat. There is an amplifier to help with a little extra kick and a 12-disc CD changer in the trunk. It works great on any level. I like to listen to country. and it really thumps with the greatest hits if you want it to.

Overall I give this car an 8 out of 10. There are those that would prefer to have the interior completely gone through. We decided to keep it the way it was for nostalgia. The rust on it would be an 9 out of 10. there is some surface rust on the underside. but nothing that is gone through. The area we didn't know about at the time of painting that didn't get repaired is the common place holes under the air intake grill that sits between the hood and windshield on both the drivers side and passenger side. When it rains really heavy there are some drips that come down by your feet on both sides. There is a common fix which is a plastic cover that securely fits over the vent during a rain storm that can be bought from any classic Mustang parts website. hence magnifying the commonality of it. I feel the paint and body is an 8 out of 10 by virtue of the dings and scratch that are noticeable. The engine/drivetrain and anything mechanical is a solid 10 out of 10 for sure. Mega reliable car there. Every light. switch. and gauge works perfectly with the exception of the speedometer. The cable and proper gear for indicating the correct speed are not to blame. The square hole in the back of the speedometer to accept the square cable to drive it has been rounded out enough to get that fixed. Otherwise. perfect. It will turn heads. take the family for a wonderful ride. and sound exceptional through the exhaust note and stereo too. I am getting my price figure from Hagerty Insurance and their website. I feel this car rates between condition 2 and condition 3 on their scales. I will entertain most any offer that is reasonable. I will be more than happy to send more pictures and any communication you need to make this sale.   Sold As-Is.
