SELLER REMARKS

For fans of the heavy cruisers. few carry the impact of the Chrysler New Yorker. More than any other full-sized luxury machine. this 1966 New Yorker hardtop packs the heart of a muscle car while surrounding its owner with first-class comfort. making for a very desirable combination.


The angular Chrysler styling that was a slam-dunk on the low-end Belvedere and Coronet is particularly effective on this full-sized heavy-hitter. This is a very original car with just a single repaint in its original Haze Green. an understated color that does wonders for this car's proportions. Yes. it's about a city block in length. but the look is crisply tailored and very impressive. and it's a wonder that all that steel managed to stay so sharp after all these years. The creases that run along the top and bottom edges of the body are sharp enough to give you a paper cut and those magnificent quarter panels are super straight with no bad surprises hiding behind the fender skirts. It's not a show car. but if you want to make an impression. 18 feet of luxury coupe will certainly do it. Neat Chrysler design details really make this car wonderful to look at; note the black vinyl inserts in the C-pillars. the wonderfully ornate grille. and the delicate Chrysler New Yorker script on the deck lid. There's nothing about this car that suggests it was inexpensive at any point in its life.


The seat covers were obviously replaced recently. but the soft fabric works well with the rest of the original dark green upholstery. Beautiful door panels carry nice-looking wood appliques and the matching dash pad hasn't been burned to a crisp by the sun. Original carpets might be showing their age a bit. but in this car it would be a shame to replace them and the heavy-duty mats do a good job of keeping them safe. The dashboard. like most high-end Chryslers. is simply gorgeous. with a rounded instrument panel housing a massive speedometer and secondary gauges all visible through the spokes of the translucent green plastic steering wheel. Options include power windows. factory A/C. and a power front seat. all befitting Chrysler's top-of-the-line model. The original AM radio is still in the dash and the back seat is big enough for real-sized adults to be comfortable on long trips. And as you'd expect. the trunk is simply massive; even with a full-sized spare there's enough room for a month's worth of luggage for the whole family.


Chrysler's stout 440 cubic inch V8 provides effortless power that makes this heavyweight feel more like a middleweight. and it's definitely a contender. The engine bay is pretty stock. showing signs of regular maintenance and no wild modifications. The A/C has been upgraded to R134a refrigerant and there's an open-element air cleaner for the 4-barrel carb. but otherwise it's as the factory intended. Underneath. it uses Chrysler's torsion-bar front suspension to achieve a pillowy-soft rod with decent handling and with power steering and brakes. it's effortless at any speed. A 3-speed TorqueFlite automatic feeds the original rear end. which uses highway gears to make this a delightful road car. The dual exhaust system gives it a bit of an edge. but not too much. and it rides on somewhat flashy Rally wheels with fat 235/60/15 blackwalls to add some attitude.


I can't get over how much car this represents for so little cash. The ride of these cars is incomparable and it's surprisingly quick with that big block V8. Cool. fast. and unusual. what's not to love? Call today!

TERMS OF SALE  

1. Per the eBay User Agreement. by placing a bid you are entering into a legally binding contract and are committed to purchasing the vehicle described above. The details of this commitment are further outlined in the eBay User Agreement.

2. Vehicle may be sold by Streetside Classic Cars prior to the end of the auction. Streetside Classic Cars reserves the right to end its auctions early or to cancel bids solely at its discretion and shall not be held liable for any such cancellation.

3. The winning bidder is required to contact Streetside Classic Cars within 24 hours after the close of the auction to finalize the details of the transaction.

4. A $1. 00 non-refundable deposit is required within 48 hours of the auction's close.   This deposit reserves the vehicle and removes it from the market. Acceptable payment types for deposit are: credit card. wire transfer. cashier's check. and money order.

5. If winning bidder does not contact Streetside Classic Cars and submit deposit within 48 hours of auction close. vehicle may be made available to the next highest bidder or another qualified buyer on a first come. first serve basis.

6. Streetside Classic Cars has represented this vehicle to the best of its ability. Prospective bidders are encouraged to contact us directly to provide additional information or answer any questions.

7. Please be aware that all pre-owned vehicles. regardless of age. mileage. or manufacturer are subject to cosmetic wear and mechanical failure. Streetside Classic Cars encourages bidder to have a personal inspection completed prior to delivery to help ensure your satisfaction. Third party inspections are to take place prior to a vehicles shipment or delivery.

8. All vehicles are sold "AS IS" and with no warranties expressed or implied.

9. Final or winning bid price does not include shipping. tax. title. or registration fees. It is the purchaser's responsibility to provide for any state or local taxes and shipping expenses resulting from the sale.

10. We can assist you in delivery through our network of private and commercial carriers. Most of them can deliver the vehicle to your driveway. We assume no responsibility for damages or delays incurred once a vehicle is in a shipper's custody.

12. An additional documentation fee of $199 will be added to the purchase price at the time of sale.
