This 1969 Mercedes 280SL will give you a lot of bang for the buck. There may be better but you will spend a lot more. It did not get a complete restoration but anything that was wrong or broken was repaired or replaced. The goal was to make it look very nice and be very reliable. A car you could drive anywhere and not worry about break downs or be to afraid to take it out because you have so much money in it. I think it turned out about right. It has very nice new paint. Almost all chrome has been redone. All new rubber seals. New soft top. New carpet. Seats. Door panels. and Dash are original. Becker Stereo set up for IPod.  Nardi wood steering wheel and original black wheel come with it. New heater levers. New Rotary A/C Compressor. I know it's not original but the A/C really works and the engine doesn't over heat. All A/C hoses were replaced with new receiver dryer and expansion valve.  Now for the engine. Valve job with new valve guides and seals. Pertronix electronic ignition. All coolant hoses and all fuel hoses were replaced. New water pump. alternator. voltage regulator. and starter. Under hood is detailed with lots of new or reconditioned parts. Brake work includes rebuilt booster. New Calipers and pads. New brake hoses and new master cylinder. Front end was tight so just repack wheel bearings. New Bilstein shocks. Complete new Mercedes exhaust system. New tires. Transmission shifts nice. A lot of work was done to this car to make it as reliable as an old car can be. It was not thrown together to make a big profit. It was done to drive and it drives nice. I'm sure I have forgotten a lot of things that were done or replaced. Look over the pictures and see what you think. The car took third place at last years Pagoda Group Show. If you have any questions about the mechanicals of the car Email me as I did most of the work. If you need to talk money or about shows it's been to call Bill at 513-321-3700. He owns the car.
