The 1950 Ford F1 Panel is one Rare Bird these days.   Just do a search and see how many are out there. not many.

My buddy Jimmy bought this Ford Panel in San Jose in the early 70‘s and drove it with it's original drive-train up til the early 80‘s and then parked it in the barn for the next thirty years.   In 2012 he decided to breath life back into her and as you can see  Jimmy's taste in Automotive Hot Rodding is pretty cool.     This little Panel is quickly becoming an icon around the Fresno Area.   It was a real hit at the recent Morro Bay Car Show where I took most of the pictures.

This was a United Van Lines work vehicle in the 50's and 60's and the Decal on the doors are still there to prove it.

Those early 50's smooth lines. gorgeous front grille work and monster front fenders look amazing.   The generous interior space in excellent for hauling almost anything.

When he decided it was time to upgrade this rig in 2012 he had two goals in mind: expressing his personal vision of what a resto rod hot rod work truck should be… oh… and also make it plenty fast!!

When it came time to think about painting the old girl Jimmy just couldn't bring himself to strip off the 64 year life story of this little gem. and thank God he didn't.   This little truck is a rolling work of art. it's metal panels are the canvas of it's life history.

I don't care how good you are or how much money you spend to try duplicate this look. you cannot replicate the look and feel of this paint from this era.  There is simply no reproduction to that process.

You would be proud to show this baby at any rod meet anywhere in the Country.   It would also make a memorable impression in your town for your business.   And if that business includes making deliveries; even better.

This little Panel is sensational and has very limited miles since Jim dropped this 350 in it a couple of years ago (less than 5K).   He built the engine to be strong and reliable. same with the brakes and cooling system.

The Body is in overall excellent condition.   There are no rust through holes to the body.   The rusty patches are simply sun baked and completely dry and as long as you keep it that way or seal it with a good sealer wax. there is no reason to think it won't be that way in another 50 years.

Mechanically. nbsp; Jimmy sparred nothing into pulling this rig back to driving condition. making it much better and more drivable. while still retaining the feel and feedback of an old truck.   He has put less than 5000 miles on it since 2012.   All we know is there are plenty of miles and smiles left in this gorgeous little gem.

Early 50's Ford Panels like this are getting harder and harder to find.   The 1950 in particular is one of the most sought after Panels of this or any era.   And finding them with no rust is even more of a trick.   Sure there are some spots on the exterior. but it is all solid and just surface rust that is dry and adds to the overall character and personality of this rolling work of art.

This little Ford Panel is completely sorted and runs and drives like a dream.   It cruises down the road with authority. straight and true at 70 mph.

Drive it. enjoy it. it will only get better with time in the hands of a particular type of owner.
