Dubbed by the motoring hierarchy of the time as ‘a sheep in wolves clothing'. the Mercedes Benz 500E has always been a little known though highly regarded super-saloon.

Built in only LHD guise for just 4 years as a joint venture between Mercedes and Porsche. they were assembled over a lengthy 18 day period by hand. moving from one manufacturer to another until both had completed their tasks. a naturally aspirated 5 litre V8. competitor-crushing performance was the end game. The results were a 0-62 mph time of just 5. 9 seconds with an electronically limited top speed of 160mph.

The example that we are currently offering from our Kew showrooms is one of only 27 UK supplied cars and has just over 100. 00 miles showing on the odometer. a figure that for the W124 series Mercedes is considered only just worn in! The service book shows regular stamps and the associated paperwork in the history file highlight a car that has always been exceptionally well looked after. Finished in Silver with Black leather interior. it is grand example of an under-the-radar Mercedes Benz super-saloon that the shrewd enthusiast will appreciate.
