1966 GLAS GT 1700 BMW NO RESERVE VERY RARE COUPE for sale

1966 GLAS GT 1700 BMW Porsche 911 CA BLACK PLATE BARN FIND SOLID complete  this is a rare low production vehicle and the most desirable of the production being the 1700 GT model. The Glas is very solid with excellent fit of the doors hood etc with only evidence of a light hit to the trunk lid yet its fit is also acceptable. It is very complete ( known missing items 1 hub cap. spare rim. nbsp;wiper arms. headlamp trim rings and one little rubber trim peace on window crank handle ) there are NO major rust issues this car is dry as can be and did not want to introduce it to a pressure washer at this stage of its preservation   ( look at the battery tray photo ) even the exhaust system looks to be original. All the window glass ( no pun intended ) looks good with no visible chips. scratches or  bubbling and all have the same duro glass markings.  The mileage shown 46 K is believable as the previous owner parked it in 1975 back in the day when it required Ca. smog  and just left off there. previous owner also stated the vehicle was running and driving fine when parked in 1975. nbsp; I put a 17mm wrench on the crank pulley and the engine rotates smooth with compression felt and all 4 cylinders I honestly think it would easily fire up with a jump start and run on a can of carb spray but with a 50 year old timing belt this would not be  the smart thing to do and see no sense in taking such a unnecessary gamble. As the photos show the Glas is a perfect candidate for restoration and its obvious that its not going to drive away.
