If you had the money and could dream it. they could build it. Often the large auto manufacturers would employ these talented craftsmen to assist in constructing specially bodied vehicles. Prototypes. Dream. nbsp;or Show cars are some examples. So are Limousines. Emergency Vehicles. Hearses. Flower Cars. Convertibles. etc. Once in a while somebody with "More money than sense" would contract a coach builder to modify a brand new car into a shape which has no function other than to display conspicuous consumption. The car you are now examining left General Motors in 1983 with 4 doors and was shipped to Grandeur Motor Coach in Fla. where it was promptly sawed into 3 pieces. The rear doors and seat were removed. The entire cowl. front doors. windshield. dash. steering wheel. and front seat were moved back. This feat was no easy task. Then a custom built extended fiberglass front clip including faux side mount wheel houses was installed. You could not duplicate this rare beauty today for the selling price - ask your favorite auto body repairman how much they would charge to perform this type of modification on your 4 door car. This particular example retains its stock wheelbase and suspension. This is not a "Kit" car - it is. and drives "Like A Cadillac!" Delivered new by Johnson Cadillac-Augusta. Ga. with full factory warranty. I remember first seeing it on the showroom floor in 1984 - WOW! - fifteen years later it was mine. This ain't your Daddy's Oldsmobile! If you are shy and don't like to talk to strangers. this car may not be for you. This car exudes personality. Everybody wants to give you their opinion. They will tell you about the one "just like this one" that their uncle's friend's cousin used to have - except theirs was a 4 door and they can't remember whether or not it had those "wheel thingies" on the side. This car draws more attention than any other vehicle I have ever driven. To me it is fun. An investment you can enjoy . If you see something you really like. haven't seen another. and actually have the cash to buy what you want. NOW is the time to buy. I have been "Car Crazy" all my life. have attended many car shows and auctions both public and private. yet have seen very few examples of this highly modified custom 2 Seat Opera Coupe. I have consulted with leading experts. including respected journalists. and no one seems to have the facts on exactly how many of these very unusual. very expensive custom bodied masterpieces were actually made. How many have you actually ever seen in person? In fact. I challenge anyone in cyberspace to certify the actual production numbers. In 1969 Chevrolet. through a special program (C. O. P. O. ). produced 69 ZL-1 Camaros with all aluminum big block engines. In 1965. Ford produced 680. 89 Mustangs. The point is that this example of automotive art is extremely rare. Sellers are often very liberal with the words "Mint" and "Showroom Condition". This car is neither. but considering it's age and mileage (less than 3K per year) it is in very good condition both cosmetically and mechanically and is priced accordingly. It has been garage kept since 1984. only enjoyed under ideal conditions. and has been regularly and professionally maintained / serviced. It is considered better than average. You could drive it across the country right now. What an adventure - fly in - drive home. This cool car would make a nice addition to any collection. I truly feel that this vehicle has reached the bottom of it's depreciating in value. and provided it is properly maintained. could appreciate in value from now on. Not to mention how much fun you would have driving it. How do you put a value on anything that rare? My insurance company currently values it at $27. 00 as it sits. If it were "Perfect" with no miles. it would be worth twice as much. For those who write long E-mails explaining why I should sell it to them for half price - having not even bothered to test drive it - Please do not waste your own valuable time. Everybody has a story of "The one that got away. " Now is your chance to own a really cool car! . A few people viewed this car at a higher price and made me "serious" offers. yet would or could not commit. I have priced it way fair and do not need to give it away. This may be the last time I list on this site. Bid Now! Thank you - Good Luck. Bid Now!
PLEASE. PLEASE. study the pictures and ask ANY questions you may have BEFORE you bid. If you or your agent would like to preview this car before you bid. or you need any additional information. contact me for arrangements. You will not be disappointed. Once you have won the bid. I will accept a $1000. deposit through Pay-Pal and the balance will only be accepted in U. S. cash upon delivery.
