Herbie the Love Bug 1977 VW Bug Volkswagen 1963 replica

You looking at a 1977 VW Beetle that was made up to look like an earlier 60's Beetle. “Herbie the Love Bug” (o\5!3/o) Replica! This little car has been with our family for almost 14 years. We are looking for a good home for him. Below are video links to You Tube with the car.

Here are the items that were update.

Replaced the floors with new pans + reinforced with Fiberglass ·

New carpeting and new seat covers.

New sun visors ·

Custom center organizer between front seats ·

Door panels were all replaced a few years ago ·

Dash was customized with Herbie emblems on them ·

Windows are all clear and no scratches or chips ·

Rubber gaskets on the windows were all replaced 2 years ago ·

New gas tank and new lines were installed 4 years ago ·

Carb 34 PICT-3 was rebuilt this year all new hoses and runs smooth ·

Ragtop was replaced 3 years ago and works great. keeps out rain and lets in fresh air ·

Heaters boxes are not hooked up but do work ·

Installed a new CD player and a custom sound machine that is connected to a PA system ·

All the fenders have been replaced over the past 8 years and the body molding is new (no squeaks) ·

Engine is a stock 1977 4-cylinder 1600 cc engine. 4-speed manual transmission. Top speeds around 70 MPH.

Running boards replaced 3 years ago some scuffs on the tops ·

Tires are ok. wide tires give it great handling and drive great! (Goodyears) ·

Painted the correct Herbie color. which was a stock color back in 1963 Pearl White ·

All brakes are drums and were replaced 7 k mile ago

Strobes in the headlights (see below video) ·

Decals on the car were purchased from Lovebugfans. com and have the correct color and font for the earlier Disney Movies (Can be removed with a hair dryer) ·

“No working” Race gas cap giving it the authentic "Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo" look ·

Garage kept and is only taken out on the driveway during the winters ·

Non-Smoking owner ·

Putting about 4 k miles a year on him and getting close to 38 MPG's ·

Runs and dives great!

Under the front hood I am adding to this listing a set of MM wrenches and the VW repair book.

Herbie has been a daily driver these past 7 years during (late spring. summers and early fall). This car turns heads and is always a hug hit at shows. parties and parades. He placed 3 rd in the 1960 to 1965 category at the Danbury Car Show in 2004.

It is hard to have to list this car as he has been part of our family. but with my schedule and time that I can spend on him I feel that it is time to find him another home.
